GENERAL MANAGER'S
MESSAGE By Anna Machado
April showers bring May flowers! I do hope that old saying holds true as we
all need a little beauty in our lives these days!
I want to take a brief moment to sincerely thank you all for your
understanding and support during this very difficult time. The grace and
patience you've shown the staff has truly touched my heart. The COVID-19
situation seemed to escalate very quickly and took many of us by surprise. I
miss seeing your faces and long for the day when I get to run into you at The
Lodge again. Personally, I've never looked forward to going to work more in
my whole life! I know you are all very anxious to be able to get back to your
normal routines such as using the facilities and participating in the Lifestyle
events as well as the various groups, clubs and committees. Once it is safe
to reopen the facilities, the community will be notified right away. In the
meantime, I hope you are all staying very safe and following the advice of our
nation's various leaders to help minimize the spread of this nasty virus. We
are truly all in this together.
While the facilities have been closed, the staff and I have been using this
time to address a few "someday" projects. One such project is leafing through
some 50+ boxes of barely labeled files. We have been purging the items that
are no longer pertinent or useful and scanning the rest into an electronic filing
system. You may not be aware, but we have fairly limited storage areas in The
Lodge. These boxes were taking up valuable storage space in the Deergrass
Room closet. In addition to this project, the staff and I have been working on
cleaning up the existing computer files as well. Over the years, many employees
have come and gone from Solera Diamond Valley and that unavoidable
inconsistency has resulted in a very lacking filing system. Normally, there is
never a great time to work on these types of tedious projects. However, we
are using this time wisely while we are away to handle some much needed
organization that will help increase efficiencies.
This month, I am going to hold a virtual Coffee with the GM via Zoom. It
will be held on May 7 at 9 am and I hope you will all join me! The directions
on how to access this virtual meeting will be sent via email a few days in
advance. If you need to add your email to our distribution list, please send
your Concierge, Teri Collett, an email at teri.collett@seabreezemgmt.com with
your information. Additionally, if you need any help with Zoom, you can still
call the office at (951) 652-5766 for assistance. I would suggest that you try
to join the meeting at least 15 minutes early in case you have any trouble with
the connection.
Until we meet again, stay safe friends!
