Doors open at 5:30 pm. Dust off your old bikini and bring your ukulele as we are having a beach party! You'll love the Enchanted Dancers who will be entertaining us. Famous Dave's is cookin' up a storm with mouth watering pulled chicken, Texas beef brisket, baked beans, potato salad, honey buttered corn muffins, and our all time favorite, chocolate chip cookies for dessert! All this for $13 pp! Guests are $15. If you live in Sun Lakes, you may come as a guest one time only, and then you must join the club for $10. Guests living outside of Sun Lakes are welcome at $15 pp. Due to the desirability of our club, we can only accommodate 99 people in the South Clubhouse for our dinner meetings, so your attendance will be on a first come first serve basis. Make checks payable to Social Singles and drop your checks to Betty McMillion, 5549 Pinehurst Dr., 769- 6636. Those that want to sit together should put their checks in one envelope. If you have signed up for the dinner meeting and are unable to attend, PLEASE call Betty McMillion so she may give your reservation to someone on the wait list. There will be no refund unless a cancellation is received by the preceding Monday at 5 pm. EVENTS Barbara Willens, Events Coordinator, 769-0912, RSVP and make check payable to her, deliver to 5301 W. PLEASE NOTE: For information on the upcoming bus trips, please contact Dorothy Rowe, bus trip coordinator at 845-5570, or by e-mail, dotrowe@dc.rr.com June 12: Reminder of the Duffy Boat Ride: Cost is $50 pp, it includes bus ride, boat ride, and dinner at Elks Club. We will meet in the Main Clubhouse Bus Room at 1 pm; the bus will be leaving at 1:30 pm promptly. The boat ride is from 4 to 6 pm, dinner at 6:30 pm and return by 9:30 pm. We will be dark in July and August. Sept. 21: Vaudeville At Its Best: This is our once a year event open to all Sun Lakers. It will be in the Main Clubhouse. Cost is $20 pp for members and $25 for non-members. Dinner will be included. Cocktails at 5 pm, dinner at 6 pm, show at 7 pm. After the show we will have dancing until 9 pm. There will be assigned seating, eight to a table, so if you want to sit together you need to turn your checks in at the same time. Dress code will be casual attire. Contact person is Sandy Richman, 769- 7595. You need to make your checks out to YAH and drop off at 6253 Ponte Verda Circle. Oct. 18: to be announced at a later date. Nov 9: Spuds & Suds. This is a new event for us and sounds like a lot of fun, there will be music, food, beer, wine and dancing. The cost is $10 pp. Info., Lori Hazelton, 236-6111. Young at Heart June 4: GRILL NIGHT AT HIGHLAND SPRINGS RESORT Leave at 5 pm. Starting at $8. Live music, homemade sausages. Let's get together with our friends for an evening of merriment . June 12: LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES Movie and lunch to be decided on at a later date. June 14: DESPERADO, THE PREMIER EAGLES TRIBUTE BAND, $12. The band will perform in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. This is the classic rock concert of the year, so don't miss out! Make checks payable to SL Rec. Dept. Dinner in the dining room before the show at 5 pm. Leave SL at 12:45 pm. The Grove Theater in Upland. Four women at a lingerie sale with nothing in common but a black lace bra AND memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, not enough sex, too much sex and more. This hilarious musical parody set to classic tunes from the '60s, '70s and '80s will have you cheering and dancing in the aisles. Coco's in Redlands for dinner. June 27: OPENING SYMPHONY REDLANDS BOWL Leave at 6:15 pm. Conductor Frank Fetta will give us another magical evening under the stars. Bring dinner if you wish. No admission charge… donations only.
