Come in your cart and park on Country Club or bring some chairs. This is a fun event for everyone. Our next meeting and support group will be on Thurs., July 19 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There is no guest speaker this month. This will give you more time for the much needed support group. As a caregiver, you are no good to your loved one if you don't take care of yourself. Please make time to attend. ALL caregivers are welcome. We are here to support and educate you, plus entertain your loved one while you attend the meeting. Drop your loved one off in the Arts and Crafts Room for an hour of live entertainment, exercise, fun and games. All of the volunteers caring for your loved one has had a family member with dementia and have experience dealing with this disease. Anyone who has a talent they would be willing to share with our patient group in the Arts and Crafts Room, please call me, Anne, at 845-8700. If you have any questions and would like to learn more about Memory Loss, we have reading material we can loan you. Call Diane, 769-0130 or Anne, 845-8700. Remember, we are here to help. Helpful hints for preventing CAREGIVER BURNOUT. To make life more comfortable for you and your loved one, build more structure into your days and let go of some of your expectations. A schedule that doesn't change much from day to day tends to make people with Alzheimer's less agitated. Plan meals, errands and bedtimes for the same times, and do tasks in the same order. Continuing with 50 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE here are 22, 23 and 24 #22 Early diagnosis of Alzheimer's is important #23 Early diagnosis means you can take advantage of medications and treatments. #24 An early diagnosis means a person can make medical and financial plans for their future care. Memory Care Group We meet Wed., July 18 at 11:30 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month. Our summer meetings (July, August, and September) are held only on the third Thursday of these months. NOTE: The July meeting will be Wed., July 18 in the Multipurpose Room at 11:30 am. The club is for persons of all computer skill levels. Each meeting will feature various topics and speakers. Handouts are given out for each presentation so you can take notes. This is a great way to share information and learn some of the ways in becoming an effective computer user. Topics: July 18: Digital Storage and Backup Future topics: Aug. 16: Digital Afterlife Sept. 20: Email Part 1 Oct. 4: Email Part 2 Membership dues are $20 dollars per year per household.
