26 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2018 | Chorale THE SUN LAKES CHORALE PRESENTS THE INLAND SOUND Each year since 2012 the Sun Lakes Chorale has been sponsoring a wonderful late summer show of music presented to you by the Inland Sound Chorus. The singers from the Inland Empire Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society are the members that comprise this chorus and present this afternoon of beautiful four-part a cappella music sung in the style of the American art form: Barbershop music. This year, we are excited to announce that we have also invited their sister chapter from the Sweet Adelines International, also the Inland Empire Chapter (comprised of ladies), to join in this production. What makes the ladies so unique is their voice range, generally an entire octave above the male singers, their costuming and their choreography. They are flashy, vibrant and love to dance while singing and they are also bringing two of their internationally famous quartets with them to be included on the show, Ms. Cellaneous, and Parfait. Mark your calendars now for the summer event that you just do not want to miss: Aug. 19, for a 3 pm Sunday afternoon matinée! Open theater seating tickets for $10 pp will go on sale starting Mon., Aug. 6 and will be available daily, Monday through Friday from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm, until Fri., Aug. 17. Tickets will also be available at the door for this ONE EVENT concert, unless we are sold out. But, to ensure that you have yours, get your tickets early! Our Holiday Concert Series will be presented in early December. Registration for the new season will be held on Mon., Sept. 10 at 8:30 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room, followed by our first rehearsal from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm. Several potlucks and a sing-a-long are planned for the summer, so if you're interested in being part of our wonderful group, contact Linda Vieira at lvieira@ eltree.com or 797-0315 to be included in the fun. This group is designed to provide emotional support to any resident mourning the death of a spouse, relationship, child, parent, or beloved pet. We gather together as "hearts with ears" in absolute confidentiality in a safe shared place where strangers may become friends. Each of us is unique; our grief cannot be identical to any other, and the way to get to the other side of your grief is to "go through." We cannot criticize or judge. The meetings are every Saturday morning in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room from 9:30 to 11:30 am. For more information, you may call Barbara Searcy at 663-3382. Bereavement Group
