The team of Lu Seymour, Lisa Korbel, Carolee Matthews and Jerry Pardue is out front as we near midseason of the Wednesday league with Ten In The Pit (Dottie Johsz, Marlene Zander, Ron Morgan and Herb Breuer) and In The Pocket (Mary Lou & Lee Peterson, Nancy & Jim Brown) currently tied for 2nd place after 13 weeks of competition. Lee Peterson posted the high scratch game of the season, 276 recently to lead his team in advancing to second place with a 599 series. Team Scratch Game belongs to In The Hunt (Pat Bisesi, Lil McLean Dick Taylor, Bob McLean) with a 789 score. Team Scratch Series goes to Pinless (Terry Brown, Diane Spence, Howard Esterson, Bill Osretkar) with a 2123. We are starting a World Cup Tennis League for members only. There are four teams: Team Portugal/Captain Dave Huetten; Team England/Captain Jeff Gorman; Team Croatia/Captain Pat Shibata; and Team Italy/Captain Peggy Huetten. This will be a fun league with all levels of play. We currently have 57 team players that have signed up for this new exciting league. We will play once a month for six months, starting Sun., Jan.. 6, warm up at 10:30 am, play at 11 am. After this ���rst match, we will have a pot luck event at the south clubhouse to kick off this new league. All members are welcome to participate in this pot luck. At the Sectionals held at Indian Wells Tennis Gardens the Sun Lakes Team came in third. The Women���s USTA 3.5 doubles team is now registering for the Winter League.
