Rules & Regulations CC&R Amendment: You may have received a reminder in the mail if you have not voted. We encourage you to vote and help us reach a count of 750 ballots. Please cast your vote to help secure our community. A Golf Cart Rules proposal has been approved by the Board of Directors and sent out for community comment. Ad Hoc Water Management The question of compost containers came before the committee and it was determined that they can be used as long as they are closed containers. You are invited to attend our meetings. They are held on the third Thursday of every month at 9 am in the Lodge Conference Room. ~ Ron Morgan Social Committee We were so excited about the New Years Event and I hope it turned out as well as we had hoped. Of course I cant report on it as yet because at the time of writing this article it had not happened as yet. I will tell all about it in the next Breeze. Another thing I am excited about (I get excited easily) is our upcoming Family Feud Game Show. This is our rst attempt at an event of this type but I am sure it is going to be a sellout. This 18 event will be Jan. 26, with doors opening at 6 pm and the show starting at 6:30 pm. There will be no dinner but there will be snack, water and coffee available for your pleasure. Remember you can always bring your drink of choice and Smittys will be opened if you would care to have dinner before the show. Tickets went on sale Dec. 22, at a cost of $15 pp and the last day to buy them is Jan. 23. As a reminder there will be 20 tables FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2013 | COMMUNITY NEWS of eight with each table being a team, so get your team together and sign up (you will need to pay for all eight people at the same time). Last year I attended a show of this type and believe me there was a lot of laughing and carrying on. Who says we older people dont have a lot of fun? So get your team, get your tickets and prepare to have a really good time. ~ Melody Seewoster Our water bills for November show a higher consumption (.01 percent) for 2012 than last year although we still have to account for December usage. The cost is up 15 percent with the new rates adopted this year. The builder has turned over to the Association thirteen booster pumps. These pumps are a backup in the event water pressure unexpectedly decreases. Currently, this is not foreseen as a problem with the potable water in our irrigation pipes. When we eventually use recycled water, they may be needed. The Association is investigating a maintenance contract to ensure periodic inspection and service of these pumps. The water fountain in the Lodge Courtyard is experiencing problems. The tiles are not designed for outdoor usage and the exposure plus heavy chlorine in the water is causing deterioration. Additionally, the ower pots lack drainage holes and the concrete is cracking. The plants suffer from exposure to chlorine spray when the wind blows and drowning from the additional wind blown water. For more information, call Chairman Len Tavernetti at (909) 744-2388, ltavernetti@hotmail.com. ~ Len Tavernetti Bistro Committee We met on Nov. 27, and reviewed several items that are in the works for the Bistro; the refrigeration and kitchen design improvements and the chair and table rework. The issue of putting little cards on the Bistro tables to discourage residents from bringing fast food and beverages was discussed. It was determined instead that Smitty will be supported in giving residents friendly reminders that tables in the Bistro are for Smittys paying customers. The next meeting is Jan. 29, at 11 am in the Lodge Conference Room. All homeowners are invited to attend. ~ William Taylor COMMUNITY NEWS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2013 19
