Line Dancing Well, hopefully we have all had our ll of cookies, fudge and heavy meals. This month brings new determination to possibly lose some weight. Line dancing is an easy workout. If you havent tried it, come join us. I teach one step at a time each Tuesday at 3 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. You will soon be able to dance to the easy songs. The advanced class begins at 3:45 pm and is always working on a new dance. We also take the time to dance to old favorites. We sometimes dance so much we actually work up a sweat! Dancing is joyful, good exercise, stimulates the mind, increases coordination and gets you out of the house around other people just having a good time. Give it a try! I hope that your holiday was lled with great joy as you spent time with family and friends. Thank you to those who participated this year. We had a great group of dancers, and enjoyed amazing times. Thank you for your friendship and support in 2012. It has been my pleasure bringing you the dances that we covered. If you were with me from the beginning, you learned more than 50 dances! And now a new year brings us more dances to discover. We will be kicking off 2013 with a special night of dance called Heart and Soul Beaumont Welcomes 2013. Join us on Friday, Jan. 4, at 6 pm in the Ballroom. Bring your favorite dish to share and your dancing shoes. We are going to shed those extra pounds the holidays brought. Ballroom Dance Club In December, we had our Christmas dinner party. Good friends, good food, good music and plenty of dancing made it lots of fun for everyone. And it was very nice to have the Line Dance clubs there as well. Dancing is what its all about, so we enjoyed our time together. The highlight of the evening was when a group of our dancers performed a choreographed waltz to Silver Bells. These folks worked very hard for many weeks to prepare themselves, and it stretched the boundaries of any previous dance experience. It was beautifully and well done. Most of us have had no dance training prior to living here, so we know what its like to start without a clue of what to do. Thankfully our instructors understand this very well. They start with the basics, and little by little introduce us to more advanced steps and 30 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2013 | CLUBS & GROUPS Everyone is invited. Jamie and Rick Brower are wagon masters for this portion. Members may divide their time between both locations or choose to do only one of the trips. The highlight of the Havasu trip is the Hot Air Balloon Festival. In Quartzsite, we will enjoy shopping under the big tents and a bonre every night. We will be at Santee Lakes March 10 - 15. Ann Williams and Jill Yanes are planning this trip. Also, were planning a trip for May 14 to 24, to some of Californias nest wine regions. We will begin with a stay in Paso Robles where we will tour wineries, visit the downtown shopping area, and eat at a Basque restaurant. From there we will go north to the Russian River Valley and the Anderson Valley. We will tour some wineries as well as visit Mendocino. Dorothy and Steve Meier and Nancy and Ron Morgan will be wagon masters for this trip. If you have an RV, come join us on one of our trips. We promise you will have a fantastic time! Our meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month at 6 pm in the Arts and Crafts Room at the Lodge. ~ Nancy Morgan Life Guide Bible Study On Tuesday, Dec. 4, we celebrated the birth of our Savior with a Christmas dinner and party at the Clubhouse. It was a lovely evening decorated festively by Lucy Whiteld and her committee. We had wonderful food, caroling and lots of fun and fellowship. In January, we begin a new series of studies helping us to deal with important issues in our lives called, Living Gods Way. Sometimes we go through rough times and experience things that get us discouraged like ill heath, nancial problems, personal problems, family troubles. At those times we need to nd ways to encourage ourselves. Our rst study on Tuesday, Jan. 22, is called Good News for Discouraged Believers. Come and join in the discussion. Everybody is welcome. We meet in the Ballroom of the Lodge on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 pm. The club provides an opportunity for us to meet people in the Four Seasons community, and also a chance to encourage and strengthen one another in our walk of faith. By the way, each lesson is self-contained, so you will benet from the discussion even if you have missed previous lessons. This study time will give you an opportunity to share your faith and gain encouragement and help from others in the group.
