All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays through Saturdays, except for Thursday which is league play. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play until 2 pm or so. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three- month season. Eight teams compete every Thursday; four teams at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of friendly one-on-one competition, come watch us play. It's our first long tournament this year, after a winter and spring disrupted by work on our courts. It has been a process adjusting to the new courts, but everyone is dealing with the same situation. Thanks to all for accepting the court differences and cheerfully moving on! The Summer Tournament ends the week of Aug. 20, with playoffs Aug. 27 and 28. Sign-ups for the Fall Tournament end Aug. 31. Take your team entries to 1288 Pleasant Valley, there is a box at the door. If there have been no changes in your team from the Summer Tournament, all you need to do is include the names of your players and $12 team fee ($3 pp) in an envelope. If you have had a personnel change, a new card has to be filled out (located in the bocce cabinet) along with the $12 team fee and club dues ($12) for the new member, if he/she is not already a member. Play for said tournament begins the week of Sept. 10. This tournament is nine weeks long. The week of Nov. 5 is the final week. Not that you will remember, but the Fall playoffs will be the week of Nov. 12 and 13! Then it's goodbye on the courts until 2019! Check Lifestyles each month anyway—you may learn something new!
