Friends we will miss
norton "Norty" Abrams 88, passed away June 22, 2018 surrounded by his wife and son as he transitioned to his
new life. Norty was born on May 30, 1930 in Chicago. A resident of Banning for 21 years, he was also a resident of Torrance
for 35 years, Riverside for seven years and Chicago for 26 years. After graduating high school he attended business schools.
A Korean War veteran, Norty served as a corporal in the Army receiving the Korean Service Medal with three stars; United
Nations service medal; Overseas Service and a Combat Infantry Badge. Norty met and married his sweetheart Elaine Feldman
on Aug. 8, 1953. He was a member of the Sun Lakes Men's Golf Club and was of the Jewish faith. He was not a man of greatness,
but a great man. A parent cradles their newborn as it struggles in its new life, hoping for a long and healthy life. A child cradles
their dying parent remembering the long and healthy life. Norton is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Abrams of Banning;
daughters, Randi Gonzalez of San Pedro and Barbie Smith of Torrance; sons, Michael Abrams of Dickinson, Texas and Steven
Abrams of Allyn, Washington, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Anna Abrams of
Chicago; sister Lorraine Greenburg of Skokie, Ill. Service was held June 27, 2018 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.
Beverly Griffin, a 21-year resident of Sun Lakes, passed on July 12, 2018 at 76 years. She was a District Aid for many
years in Districts 7 and 11. She enjoyed traveling, the Sun Lakes community, and her KJ Chardonnay. She will be sorely
missed by all. She is survived by her husband Joe and sister Yvonne as well as several nieces and nephews. We love you Bev…
