| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2018 | 39 The 80s Plus Club would like to give a very special and grateful thank you to retired volunteer extraordinaire Jeff Burris for his many years of service to our club. Jeff did many jobs above and beyond the call of duty. He was our secretary, keeping all our members records. Jeff was our personal photographer making amazing scrapbooks with the memories of our group, donating both time and money to this effort. Jeff purchased all of our supplies. He was so diligent in cleaning the kitchens, that they were, more often than not, cleaner after our functions than before. He made coffee as well as anything asked of him, often anticipating needs and filling them before anyone knew the need was there. We've always been able to count on Jeff. Above all, Jeff was always a joy to be around and always pleasant to everyone. He has been a major influence in the 80s Club being the wonderful club it is today. Jeff, we truly hate to lose you and are eternally grateful for your wonderful and generous contributions to the 80s, you are irreplaceable! Our June gathering featured the wonderful guitar performance of Alex Fedotowsky of Sun Lakes. He is an incredibly talented guitarist with quite a range of styles. He performed from Black Bird by the Beatles, to A Very Good Year by Frank Sinatra. The biggest response seemed to be to his electrified rendition of Malaguena that had everyone's riveted and undivided attention. Thank you, Alex, for an outstanding performance. Our next gathering is Aug. 11. We'd love to have you join us and believe you'd enjoy it! You owe it to yourself to give us a try on. You can join us one time before deciding if you want to join as a member or not. You just need to let us know the end of the prior month for the catering count. We meet at 3 pm in the North Clubhouse on the second Saturday of each month. Get your reservations in by the end of the month to Sandee at (909) 301-9044, 1469 Littler for the following month for the necessary head count. Spouses and caregivers are welcome to attend as well. Many members bring their visiting children or other out of town visiting guests also. You just need to let us know in advance for a head count for the food.
