Have you read the Community Guidelines? We were all given copies when we bought our houses and they are also available on the fourseasonsbeaumont.org website under Governing Documents. I'm not saying that the guidelines will replace your favorite spy novel or thriller but they do make pretty exciting reading. The Community Guidelines consist of 36 pages of important information and we at the Rules & Regulations Committee highly recommend reading them. Community Guidelines cover everything from the rules governing basketball hoops (not allowed anywhere on the property unless the Board gives prior written consent to the location) to woodpiles, storage areas, mulch piles and outdoor clotheslines (prohibited unless obscured from view from persons located on Association Property by a fence or appropriate screen approved by the Architectural Committee). But wait, there's more! The Common Guidelines contain extensive information of what is allowed or disallowed on our Association Property. Those things that fall into the disallowed category are there because they may conflict with the enjoyment of our use of the property. As the guidelines so aptly state, the use of the Association facilities is a privilege which is enjoyed by all residents and consideration of others is paramount. Four Seasons is a great place to live and we have our community guidelines and CC&Rs to thank for it! The Rules & Regulations Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room. You can voice an opinion or concern as a guest or just observe the meeting. Either way, we welcome you. We also have some openings on the committee for residents who are interested in contributing to our community. Please stop by! ~ Margie Chadburn Rules & Regulations committee FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2018 21 Something is always changing at the Architectural Review Committee. This month due to changes in California laws we were required to adjust our guidelines and rules concerning installation of solar panels on attached residential buildings. These are our Springdale units. Please contact the ARC or the management office if you need more information. Our entire membership is learning about changes to the state's requirements for live plant material in front yards and how the builder is changing their landscape designs on the newest buildings. We don't have any say in how they landscape new homes. However, we need to have the knowledge to help new homeowners who want to change their front yards and stay within state and city laws as well as our ARC Guidelines. Occasionally we are called on to provide guidance to the Board of Directors concerning what our Guidelines allow and what is restricted. We never roam through our community or search for violations. We only act as advisors to homeowners and the Board of Directors. If you enjoy lively discussions, learning new concepts and serving your neighbors, the ARC is for you. Check us out. We meet the first and third Wednesday of each month in the RNC Conference room. You may also call me for more information at (801) 815-5302. ~ Steve Cooley Architectural review Committee
