34 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2018 Mixed Media Arts Class Teacher Rob Kelman Computer Technology SEE THE WORLD THROUGH NEW EYES! by Barbara Price, student. Joining an art class was one of the best ideas I've had. Add Rob Kelman to the mix and it was my lucky day! I discovered my potential in the field of art three years ago in Rob's class. As he says: "Talents are often discovered later in life when time is available to explore new ideas." So, now at the age of 83, I have found my ability to put images to paper with a realistic and pleasing result. What enjoyable moments we share in class when colors blend together in lovely and unexpected ways, when adding a shadow brings a picture to life right before our eyes, or when we see the tears of a fellow student who suddenly recognizes her/his own talents. All genuine and memorable experiences we share as students and friends. Rob is there throughout our journey from novice to developing artist--- always available, always teaching and inspiring. Artists-in-the-making often enter class saying: "I could never draw like that" only to find, in a few short weeks a sense of accomplishment and excitement of discovering their emerging talents. Come join us. Classes are Mondays 10 am-12 and/or Wednesdays 6 pm-8 pm. Prepare for that "ah-ha" moment! Any questions call Rob Kelman at (951) 992-9156. ~ Rob Kelman He's back! One of our favorite expert/presenters, Walter Carter of Danza del Sol, returns. Walter has a new twist for us this month — Erica Jennings from Masia de la Vinya will be joining him in presenting a white wine from Danza del Sol and one from Masia de la Vinya. Then we will have the opportunity to taste a red wine from Danza and Masia. Talk about variety and options! Please join the Taste d'Vine Wine Club for this fun evening. Our meeting will be held Aug. 16 (the third Thursday of the month) in the Ballroom. Doors open at 5:15 pm with the meeting starting at 6 pm. Please bring a favorite wine to share with your table along with an appetizer such as crackers, cheese, fruit, dessert or anything in between along with two glasses for tasting.
