FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2018 39 Pinochle for Fun Join us! Whether you are a seasoned player or new to the game, we welcome you. Pinochle is an exciting card game where you bid and bluff to name trump and take control of the game. This stimulating game is a time-honored favorite. Winning is not just the luck of the draw; it is a thinking game which teases the mind and keeps it sharp. We play with a Pinochle double deck of cards, Ace through 10s. We meet at the Summit Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am to 12:30 pm. Our Chair is Karen Farmer. ~ Karen Farmer We play the second Monday and the third Saturday of the month. Every week we have a training table and we welcome everyone. We start at 4 pm on Mondays and 3 pm on Saturdays. This is fun and we are friendly so come on down and check us out. Contact: Cheri Howard (951) 756-1216 or howards1249@gmail.com. ~ Cheri Howard Phase 10 Bridge for Fun Our Monday and Wednesday bridge groups just keep growing. We are up to three tables all the time and sometimes four. We have a great afternoon meeting new people and seeing our friends. It is what it says - Bridge for Fun. Verina makes sure of that! We recently had a few new people join our group. They had not played for some time and were learning. They have learned quickly and their weekly scores are right up there with the rest of us. So if you have ever thought about learning the game or want to take it up again, let us know. You can also just come and watch to see if it's your thing. We meet in the Lodge Card Room at 12 pm sharp on Monday and Wednesday. Monday info., Bill Guy (951) 845-5627. Wednesday info., Verina Rector (951) 769-1687 or Tom Halley (760) 898-3215. ~ Tom Halley Dominoes Well it happened again. Last month had two domino champions, Robert Steen and John Bragg. For the month of June we have two champs again, Jesse Dimmer and yours truly Marvin Gaines who both tied up with 13 games each. Several years have passed and the swallows have gone to Capistrano and had babies since I have been in the spotlight. One of these days I might be the champion but it is cool sharing the spot with Jesse. We have so many good domino players it is really a tough battle to be the top dog. Congratulations to me and Jesse. In the community's Fourth of July event we had three players in a fierce, fight-to-win the domino tournament finals. Pete Antoine, Leroy Wright and Reggie Fuqua all played their best strategy but only one got first place. Pete won first place, Leroy second place and Reggie came in last place. Congratulations to all of the players. Thank you Cindy Graves and Four Seasons Beaumont for sponsoring the event. Dominoes are played every Wednesday and Friday from 5 to 9 pm in the Lodge Game Room. Come out and join us and make some new friends. Practice is from 5 to 6 pm on both days. Jesse Dimmer is usually available to give you help and tips on the game of dominoes if needed. For more information, call Jesse at (951) 769-2035 or Reggie at (951) 769-6483. ~ Marvin Gaines Fourth of July domino players.
