42 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2018 Women's Evening Bible Study When I think of fall it's about cooler days, beautiful hues of yellow, red, orange and brown covering the hills and valleys, and the harvest. A time of thankfulness and blessings. We can participate in a new group, Women's Evening Bible Study and receive blessings of fellowship, encouragement, and growing in faith through the Word of God. It is a non-denominational study and all will have an opportunity to share their thoughts during our time together. Our study will be two evenings a month from 6:30 to 7:45 pm. In September the dates are Sept. 6 and 20. We will meet in the Lodge Game Room. I will give you the dates of our future meetings when we meet in September. We extend our Philia, "friendship" to you. Philia is a Greek word and is often translated as brotherly love, it goes on to say that Philia concerned the deep camaraderie and friendship that developed between brothers in arms who fought side by side on the battlefield. It was about showing loyalty to your friends, sacrificing for them, as well as sharing your emotions with them. When we gather together and pray it is a sacrifice for our neighbors, friends, for people we don't know, people who are hurting, our cities, communities, country, and the world, by doing this we are showing love. Come and share our passion, and the love that we have for the human race. We meet on the first Monday of each month. An intercessor's first priority is to love. Love and compassion is our gift to all mankind. So, come and join us in the game room on Aug. 6, at 9 am. Hope to see you. ~ Cookie Bonner Hey all you Four Seasons ladies! If you are interested in joining a wonderful group of outstanding Christian women who love God and His Word, as well as each other, please consider joining "Believe…" Women's Bible Study. We meet every Friday from 10:30 to 11:45 am in the Lodge Card Room. This is a non-denominational study, and all versions of the Bible are great! On June 8 we began our new series: Blessing Blockers [What are they? How do we avoid them? What does the Bible say about them?] So far we have discussed what blessings are, how to recognize them, the conduit for blessings (prayer), and several blessing blockers that stem from negativity: Complaining, judging others and yourself, holding onto the past, guilt/shame, doubt, and what we say and how we say it. We then discussed faith/trust v. fear; peace v. conflict/ confusion/chaos; obedience v. sin; forgiveness v. grudge-holding; blessing others v. failing to bless others. On Aug. 1 we begin the downslope for this series: love vs. hate; humility v. pride; God first v. God last; His will v. our will; ask and recognize and give thanks. There has been a lot of discussion where we learn from each other. So, c'mon and join us. We will resume meeting with our Fall Potluck on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 6 pm at The Summit. Regular participants will be contacted regarding the coordination of the meal. We look forward to a great time of fellowship and singing. The regular Bible Study will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 7 pm in the third section of the Lodge Ballroom. We invite all residents to join us for study, discussion, and prayer. During August, we encourage participants to get together informally.
