| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2018 | 9 August is our month of Movie Night under the Stars. If you have never come to the movies on the Plaza, or you are new to the community, be sure to give it a try this year. Movie nights are Aug. 2, 16, 23, and 30 and are FREE, including FREE popcorn and candy. Bring your own chair and refreshments. You can pick up a copy of the flier at the Lodge information counter. All the movies that will be shown are rated PG or PG-13. Guests are welcome! Can you believe it is the 40th anniversary of Grease? For this movie on Aug. 16, we are going to have a sing-a-long for all who want to participate (singing is optional). We will have printed lyrics available if you can't remember all the words. The Bus Excursion to see the Pageant of the Masters is on Aug. 9. We will be loading the bus at 1 pm to head to the Pageant, and will not return until midnight (time approximate). The next Bus Excursion will be to see the musical Beautiful: the Carole King Story on Oct. 2 at the Broadway Theater in San Diego. Dinner at Buca di Beppo (Italian) prior to the show is included. Ticket price is $106 pp and are on sale at the front desk. Music on the Plaza is on Aug. 28 and will feature the band Blue Breeze featuring Blues, Motown, R&B, Soul and Funk. Get your wristbands now and don't miss out! Tickets for the Luau Dinner Show on the Plaza go on sale Aug. 21 for just $30 each. This will feature a wonderful Hawaiian style dinner plus Polynesian dance show. Get out your muumuus, Hawaiian shirts, and flip flops and come have fun at the Luau on Sept. 29. Tickets are on sale from Aug. 21 through Sept. 19. Don't miss out! Wow, table 29 was full of winners. Thanks to all participants who baked pies for the All-American Fourth of July celebration. The judges declared a winner after proclaiming each pie delicious and wanting to be served a larger slice of each for the tasting. Congratulations to the winner, Janelle Budd, who baked a delicious Caramel Apple Pie. Coming in a very close second was Galye Wergeland with a Sweet Cherry Pie — indeed it was sweet perfection. In third place was Roxy Snider with a Bacon Apple Pie. Yes, anything tastes great with bacon. Adrienne Keating received a participant ribbon for her Lime Pie… yum, yum.
