26 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2018 | Karaoke Hi everybody and welcome to the Karaoke Corner. Karaoke will be Aug. 12 in the Karaoke Lounge at 2 pm after brunch. I want to apologize for getting everyone's hopes up about the "Fountain of Youth" that I mentioned in the July Herald. I finally got some of that miracle cream PLEXADERM, and I thought it would be a good idea to try it out on my wife and I before unleashing it on the Karaoke Club members. I suggested my plan to my wife, that just before bedtime we would rub the PLEXADERM"all over each others face and let it do its magic overnight. She was a little apprehensive at first, but the more I talked about how great we were going to look from now on, (I might have mentioned that she would be waking up next to Tom Cruise, and I was sure I would be having breakfast with Julia Roberts) I finally talked her into it. So, as we turned back the covers that night and sat on the bed next to each other, we smiled as we tenderly and carefully rubbed the PLEXADERM onto each others face, excitedly anticipating the life changing experience that we were embarking on. It was just a little sad and melancholy to think that we were saying goodbye to the old Bill and Carolyn as we softly rubbed each others face. I gave her a very gentle and tender kiss to reassure her, and as I did, I realized how beautiful she is, but, c'mon man, JULIA ROBERTS? I rubbed a little harder, and she must have had the same thoughts, as she was really rubbing my face hard. I had to tell her to slow down as she was building up sweat beads on her forehead mixing with the PLEXADERM, and she was using gobs of the cream on my face compared to what I had applied on her. When we finished the jar we smiled sweetly at each other, and kissed as we tucked ourselves in… all the while dreaming of what was to be, and, what use to be. Here's looking at you kid, look at all the things we did, we can find it, once again I know, just like they did in Key Largo. The next morning we awoke simultaneously. "Aw,"she whispered, "it's you." "It's me," I said, "and it's still you, you're not Julia." She smiled, "and you're not Tom." "Maybe we didn't use enough," she asked. "Maybe," I said. But maybe it's not about wrinkles, or the bags under our eyes, just because we look old, doesn't mean we have to think old. The simple truth is, the fountain of youth is in your head and in your heart, it's an attitude. Julia Roberts, I guess she's okay, but my wife is still the prettiest girl I've ever seen, and the only one that I would sail away to Key Largo with. See ya at karaoke, come sing me a song. ~ Bill Ballroom Dance club The Ballroom Dance Club meets in the Aerobics Room (by the Gym) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 pm to learn and practice Ballroom Dance. There is no cost. The format is to work on whatever those in attendance want to learn or practice. This is open to anyone at Four Seasons and can be singles (including married but only one dances) or couples. The facilitators, Dennis and Sharon Uhlken, and those in attendance figure out how to make it work with those there. The first half hour is dedicated to those that are beginning or need extra work on any dance type, and the next hour is usually to work on one dance type that the group is learning. Usually several weeks are spent on a type of dance starting with beginning steps and adding complexity over the weeks. Some sessions are used to review/relearn dance types that haven't been done in a session for a while. Most attend once a week, either Tuesday or Thursday when they can. Some both days. Videos of instruction are usually used to learn from, but sometimes Dennis and Sharon or others will show something they learned. Dance types covered include: Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Nightclub Two-Step, Foxtrot, and Tango. Other types can/will be covered as those in attendance want. This could include couples Country Dances if there is interest. If interested, you can just show up. Or you can contact Dennis and Sharon Uhlken (951) 375-7445, (leave a message) with questions and to ensure a session will be held (no class when Dennis and Sharon are out of town usually, although if people want to show up and practice they can). Our motto: Keep on dancing. Dancing has been shown to be a very good way to keep the brain working well, and of course the exercise is good for the body.
