In your kitchen, bathroom and garage there is at least one default
outlet (an outlet is one that you plug a toaster or hair dryer into) which is
to prevent you from being electrocuted. If the outlet does not work (no
electricity), look to see if a small green light has gone out. If so, push the
small bar in until it clicks. The green light should come on. If not the
outlet may need to be replaced.
On the outside of your house is the Electrical Panel Box which has
several electrical breakers for various rooms and appliances in your
home. If one of the breakers goes off because of a short or another
reason, it is easy to turn back on. Open up the outside panel box and look
to see if one of the breakers is not in line or in a different position with the
others. They look like the old light switches that you flipped up or down
(or side to side). To turn it back on push (flip it) to the left (off position)
then back to the right (on position). If it stays on, you're okay. If it flips
back off, you have a problem. Call an electrician.
