| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2018 | 25 Mah Jongg Club We are all having a great time playing Mah Jongg with the 2018 cards. Even though we are past midway this year, the cards don't come until March, so they are still new to us. Now is the perfect time for those of you who are curious about the game to come and learn how to play! Up until now, we have had only one guy in the group. Now, I am happy to report we have a second and would still like to welcome more. Legend has it that this game originated in China hundreds of years ago and was exclusively a mans game! So guys, the Mah Jongg Club would like to invite you to join us this year and have a fun time playing and socializing. We play every Monday and Thursday from 1 to 3:30 pm in the Multipurpose Room. If you want to learn how to play, we have written instructions and someone is always available to teach you. You are welcome to come and observe anytime when we are playing. We also have birthday luncheons, holiday parties and other get togethers throughout the year. For information, please call Mila Bodrov at (951) 223-3338 or Marilyn Fields at (619) 892-1128. Bunco Babes I'm back. It's been a long recovery but I am happy to say all is well. Due to my Bunco pal still in the hospital I will be looking for help to run the group. I would like to thank all the ladies who made it possible to continue without us. This is a great group of ladies. We welcome new members to join us. Bunco will be on Aug. 24. in the Card Room. All reservations or cancellations must be made by Tues., Aug. 22. Space is limited to 32 women. We fill up fast. Mexican Train It's so nice to see so many new people at the Mexican Train tables enjoying the game and the camaraderie. Whether you're an experienced player or a newcomer to the game, everyone is welcome. We play every Tuesday evening in the Lodge Multipurpose Room. PLEASE NOTE: start time is being changed to 6 pm. Early arrival is suggested to ensure a good seat. For more information, contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223- 3836 or misserdog@outlook.com. We look forward to having even more of our neighbors come join us. Hope to see you there! Scrabble If you enjoy playing 'Words With Friends' or other word games on the computer or your phone, why not take a break from that screen and come play Scrabble with some live people! Our primary objectives are to have a good time and keep our brains active while socializing with friends. We meet on Monday afternoons at 3:30 pm in the Lodge Multipurpose Room, so come on down and check us out. For more information, contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or misserdog@outlook.com.. Hand & Foot Summer is here and we have a great place and activity for you to participate in and keep cool at the same time… Hand & Foot. A card game that is easy to learn and a lot of fun to play. You don't need a partner just come on down every Wednesday to the Lodge in the Multipurpose Room. Be there promptly at 11:15 am as you will need to find a place to play as we start at 11:30 am. Bring a snack to share and a smile on your face. I look forward to meeting you. For more information call Pat Hall at (951) 599-4687 or email me at pjhall@prodigy.net. 20-20 Hand & foot canasta As you may have noticed, there was a little discrepancy in the July Herald Magazine regarding Hand & Foot. However we are still hoping for new players to come to our meeting and learn the game. Call us and we will be glad to give you some instructions before you attend an actual game. That way you will know something about the game before hand and perhaps you will feel more comfortable. We begin play at 1 pm on the second and third Fridays of each month. Months that have five Fridays, we play on that day also. Please contact Billye Hibbard at (951) 926-8880, or Joyce Kerns at (951) 325-8840 for additional information.
