| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2018 | 27 Tennis Friends If you want to net some new friends, stay physically fit and have fun playing a challenging sport, check out tennis and see what the "racquet" is about on the courts. Players at the Four Seasons epitomize the friendliness of the community and the adage "tennis is a sport for a lifetime." Although they may be "foes" on the courts, competing in fun matches, off the court, players are a close group of friends, who gather to celebrate birthdays, wedding and other special events. Last month, after a spirited game of mixed doubles, Tennis Friends got on track with a luncheon in a converted railway car in celebration of player Carol Ferber's birthday. The group enjoyed an array of Chinese food at the Chinese Bistro, just down the road from the Four Seasons, off Highway 74. Although Tennis Friends has players of all ability levels, the group shares a common goal: to improve their games while having fun with good friends on and off the court. Whether you're new to the community or ready to pull out that dusty racquet from the closet, check out the action on the tennis courts where you'll find a bevy of players ready to welcome you to the game. Summer tennis times: Men's and women's, beginning at 8 am, Monday and Friday — men's and advanced women's, beginning at 7:30 am, Tuesday and Thursday — Mixed Up doubles, beginning at 7:30 am, Saturday. Hope to see you on the courts! TGIF You won't want to miss TGIF on Fri., Sept. 7 at 5 pm. The Once Again Band, composed entirely of Four Seasons residents, will be here to play for us after dinner. They play music from the 50s and 60s, as well as some country for those that like to line dance. So put on your dancing shoes and join us for a really fun evening. Bring a dish to share with eight to 10 people, your own utensils and beverage of choice. We will provide hot water, instant coffee, tea and ice. There will be a wine raffle. Two tickets cost $1. Plan to stay after dinner and enjoy the music or dance a little with this all Four Seasons resident's band! Come join the fun! We play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We invite anyone that would like to learn how to play Pickleball to come on down the fourth Saturday of the month at 8 am for lessons. We know you will have as much fun as we do. Players of all skill levels welcome! Pickleball Carol Ferber (left in pink), enjoys a birthday luncheon with her tennis friends in the Chinese Bistro railway car restaurant
