34 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2018 | Auditions were held last month for our upcoming play Four Old Broads, a comedy that takes place in a retirement home. Rehearsals begin this month and the cast members are: Lou Evans as Beatrice - a former burlesque star with an attitude; Barbara Searcy as Eaddy Mae - a former nurse and "religious"lady; Sue Dunn as Imogene – the newest resident at Magnolia Place; Michele Clark as Pat - a rude and pushy nurse; Ramona Lott as Maude - a funeral and soap opera obsessed frump; Ken Clark as Sam – a retired Elvis impersonator and Casanova; and D. Williams as Billy Joe – a quiet, romance-novel-loving male nurse. The dates for the play are Oct. 25-28 and more information on ticket sales will be forthcoming. We need volunteers to help us back- stage with props, etc. If you're interested in helping, this is a good way to learn what goes on behind-the-scenes when putting on a play. There will also be other opportunities to help with other important jobs related to the play. Our next potluck is scheduled for Sept. 19 at the South Clubhouse at 6 pm. Sandy Haines will provide more information on this event at this month's meeting and you will have an opportunity to sign-up for the dish or dessert you want to bring.
