FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2018 39 Uptown Divas Bid Whist Phase 10 Bridge for Fun Our Bridge for Fun group had a great get-together at the home of our captain, Verina Rector. We enjoyed our summer barbecue with burgers and hot dogs, along with beer and wine provided by our club, while others brought sides. We also had great fun playing creative games hosted by Carroll Oliver. Some of our newer players also attended and it was great to get to know them better. Since this is now the only rubber or party bridge group in Four Seasons, we are moving toward five tables each Wednesday. We try to accommodate all who want to play. If you are interested in playing or just want to come watch to see if bridge is your thing, please contact Verina Rector at (951) 769-1687, or just stop by. We meet on Wednesdays at noon in the Card Room in The Lodge. ~ Tom Halley Dominoes The regular monthly battle for the domino championship for July went down to the wire. Vernon Bell won 10 games, Wondell Collins won 11 games, and Robert Manual and Marvin Gaines both tied up with 12 games wins each. Robert Turner came out on top with 13 game wins and was the champ for July. It was a very close battle any of the players could have won, but Robert had some luck on his side. Congratulations to Robert and all of the domino players. The Domino Group is very happy and excited to welcome two new lady players. We have Lady T Stepson and Roxanne Williams. These new lady players are prepared to give the guys a hard fight for the domino championship. Dominoes are played every Wednesday and Friday from 5 to 9 pm in The Lodge Game Room. Come on out to join us and make some new friends. Practice is from 5 to 6 pm on both days. Jesse Dimmer is usually available to give you help and tips on the game of dominoes if needed. For more information, call Jesse at (951) 769-2035 or Reggie at (951) 769-6483. ~ Marvin Gaines Uptown Divas Bid Whist Group meets on the first and third Friday every month from 2 to 4 pm in the Game Room. ~ Deborah Garner Uptown Divas held a potluck and played Bid Whist at The Summit in August. Phase 10 is a very easy game to learn and, besides that, it's a lot of fun. Numbers are drawn to establish table groups of four players. There is always a training table and we won't let Patty sit there. Promise. Join us on the second Monday of each month at 4 pm or the third Saturday of each month at 3 pm. ~ Cheri Howard
