34 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2018 Mixed Media Arts Class Teacher Rob Kelman This is the perspective of the artist of the month, Diane Hatchett: I joined Rob Kelman's art class three years ago and during that time, I've managed to produce some pieces that have both pleased and surprised me. This past year I've been working in acrylics which a was totally new medium for me. I had used oils years ago and thought the transition would be easy. They are not the same! With Rob's guidance, I learned how to appreciate the differences and make them work for me. I'm still learning and Rob is always there with good ideas and suggestions. My result is this picture of the month. The class is full of fun people who are finding out just how talented they really are. It is a constant surprise to all of us just what we can accomplish with a little nudge and a lot of encouragement from Rob. If you're wondering if you have an inner Rembrandt or Picasso, this is the place for you to take that first step. Classes are FREE and are Mondays 10 am to 12 noon and/or Wednesdays 6 to 8 pm. Any questions, call Rob Kelman at (951) 992- 9156. ~ Rob Kelman We have a very interesting and helpful subject being presented at our October Taste d'Vine Wine Club Meeting. Mr. Glenn Richards will be discussing "secondary label" wines during his presentation of "Neighborhood Quality Wines at a Reasonable Price." Glenn started working in the Wine & Spirits industry while still in college at San Diego State. Over the years, he has worked for Gallo Wine, The Wine Spectrum, Seagram Fine Wines, Buckingham Wine Imports, Chateau St. Jean and Gannon Wine & Spirits. His varied background gives him an in- depth understanding of the wine industry and exactly what it takes to bottle a great wine. Please join us at our meeting on Oct. 18 (the third Thursday of the month) in the Ballroom. Doors open at 5:15 pm with the meeting starting at 6 pm. Please bring a favorite wine to share with your table along with an appetizer such as crackers, cheese, fruit, dessert or anything in between along with two glasses for tasting. Members $5, guests $10, and non-resident guests $15.
