FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2018 39 Uptown Divas Bid Whist Phase 10 Bridge for Fun Open Bridge 4 Fun It's hard to believe how fast each year goes. Amazing it is already fall! If you are thinking about a new activity, consider playing bridge. As the only organized rubber bridge group in Four Seasons we always have four tables and sometimes five. We have welcomed some new homeowners over this past month looking for a fun group to spend an afternoon with playing cards. We have so many regulars that we have to ask new players to be substitutes until we have an opening. We have all levels of players from beginner to intermediate so please don't feel hesitant about joining our group or even just coming to watch and see if bridge is for you. We are a friendly group that meets in The Lodge Card Room every Wednesday at noon. For more information, contact Verina Rector at (951) 769-1687. ~ Tom Halley Join in Mondays at 12 noon in The Lodge Card Room. No scheduling, no buy-in. All welcome. We play and rotate until approximately 3:30 pm. Experienced players will help less experienced. If there is a small turn out, we play Honeymoon Bridge for two players or cut-throat bridge for three players. Come have fun. For more information, call Mike Saperstein (951) 769-7909. ~ Mike Saperstein Dominoes Jesse Dimmer was the domino champion for the month of August with 22 game wins. Jesse got out in front of the other players and ran like a scared rabbit, nobody was able to catch him. In the past few months Jesse has shared the spotlight with Robert Turner, John Bragg and Marvin Gaines. It is great to have Jesse in the spotlight all by himself. Congratulations to Jesse. In September, the Domino Group started a quarterly domino championship playoff. The winner of the double elimination competition had their name engraved on the Domino Group trophy. They will be able to take the trophy home for one month to share with their family and friends. Dominoes are played every Wednesday and Friday from 5 to 9 pm in The Lodge Game Room. Come out and join us and make some new friends. Practice is from 5 to 6 pm on both days. Jesse Dimmer is usually available to give you help and tips on the game of dominoes if needed. For more information, call Jesse at (951) 769-2035 or Reggie at (951) 769- 6483. ~ Marvin Gaines Uptown Divas Bid Whist Group meets on the first and third Friday every month from 2 to 4 pm in the Game Room. ~ Deborah Garner August's Domino champ, Jesse Dimmer In Phase 10, the lower the score the better. The average winner can have a final score well into the hundreds. Phase 10 is a very easy game to learn and, besides that, it's a lot of fun. Numbers are drawn to establish table groups of four players. There is always a training table. Join us on the second Monday of each month at 4 pm or the third Saturday of each month at 3 pm. ~ Cheri Howard Hey everyone! There is a new card-game playing group in town, Co-Ed Bid Whist Players. We meet every Monday (except holidays) from 6 to 8:30 pm in the RCN Building, Activity Room 3. Bid Whist is a partnership game with two teams playing against each other in a fun- filled and competitive environment which includes scoring, bluffing, 'trash talking,' and skill. We welcome players of all levels, veteran and newbies. You can come as partners or solo! We will match you up with other players. We will also have a table set aside for players new to the game; they will get coached by veteran players in a "hands-on" game. We are a totally separate group from the Uptown Divas Bid Whist Group, for whom we have much love and support. So, if you want to learn bid whist and/or 'want to get your bid game on' come out and check us out. For more information, contact Roxanne Williams at (951) 797-3123 or Floyd Reid at (951) 317-3127. ~Roxanne Williams Co-ed Bid Whist
