FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2018 43 The TOPS group held their annual Officer Installation on Aug. 21. Pat Pendergraph, the group's outgoing Co-Leader, presided over the installation of the new officers. Cathy Calhoun is the current Leader of our TOPS chapter, with Donna Williams as Co-leader and Marjorie Melendez is the Treasurer. The group's Secretary is Joanne Thompson, with Claudia Rozzi and Pat Whalen serving as Weight Recorders. Also recognized at the meeting was Mike Saperstein, who has been at his goal weight for 20 years now and holds the title of KOPS (Keeping Off Pounds Sensibly) member. The TOPS group had a Take Five Off contest, that took place from January to June, of this year. Each member was challenged to take off at least five pounds during that period. A total of 51 pounds was lost by the group, a very nice accomplishment. A new contest was introduced recently, Take Five More Off, which will run from July through December. The Best Loser for the month of August was Marjorie Melendez and the Runner-Up Best Loser award went to Jerry Thompson. Congratulations! The Four Seasons TOPS group meets every Tuesday at 8:30 am, at The Lodge. Weigh-ins are from 8 to 8:30 am. New members are always welcome. The Bereavement Group began again last month after a four-month hiatus. It was wonderful to sit in our new location, the RCN Conference Room, with the cushy chairs and the privacy. What was not new was the pain, guilt and confusion that was brought into the room. And what else was not new was the warmth, the sense of camaraderie and the willingness to share. If you are struggling after a loss, please consider joining us. You will find caring people who are trying to make sense of their new life, the one without the loved one. You will be welcomed.
