FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2018 47 The Four Season Singers are back to regular rehearsals every Monday at 3 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. We are getting ready for our big Holiday Show. We are working on some traditional music but also some new music. We will be meeting every week between now and the Holiday Show, which is Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. We always welcome new recruits who want to sing! Just a reminder that Susan Youel's Singing for Seniors, which is held every Wednesday at 3 pm in RCN3, will be "dark" for October. Classes will resume in November. This is a chance to start singing again, or just start singing. If you would like to join the singers, would like to be included in my email list, or if you have questions about the Four Seasons Singers, call (951) 797-3466 or email me at bawasco@dc.rr. com. ~ Barbara Wasco Four Seasons Singers SEASONED SOLOS If you are single and enjoy a variety of activities, then Seasoned Solos just might be the group for you. We currently have 20 plus members. At each meeting we discuss what is going on in the Inland Empire and plan activities for the coming month, from local lunches and dinners to excursions to presidential libraries, Redlands Bowl, Metro Link trips into LA and the beach train to San Juan Capistrano. There's not much that we won't consider doing. We meet on the first Friday of each month in The Lodge Craft Room at 6 pm. For further information call Joyce at (951) 850-3055. ~ Joyce Olson Classical Music Club We are classical music lovers with an interest in sharing our love, knowledge, and interest in classical music. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7 pm in the Theater. We listen to and watch musical selections on the big screen. Each month we focus on a particular work or several selections of one composer. We also discuss current musical performances in the area. We welcome new members. Contact Steve Benoff at steve.benoff@verizon.net or (310) 413-4896. ~ Steve Benoff Kiwanis Club of Beaumont Our club enjoyed selling apple strudel and ice cream at the Oktoberfest, sponsored by the Beaumont Cherry Valley Recreation and Parks District, last month. Our strudel was provided by the Haus Bistro of Calimesa. Thank you, Margie and Henry Haverland, it was the best! This is one of our many events where the proceeds will go toward high school scholarships and youth service programs. President Jim Bice turned over the gavel to Sue Pensak, our new 2018-19 president. Sue, who has been club secretary for more years than I can remember, will now lead us as the Kiwanis Club of Beaumont's President. Sue is very active with many community service organizations such as Cherry Festival and Winter Wish, just to name a few. Our next event will be Trunk or Treat at the Beaumont Sports Park, Oct. 31. The event is sponsored by the Beaumont Police Department. Treats will be passed out in a safe environment, keeping the kids off busy streets. We are always looking for new members. The more members we have, the more service we can do in the community. Our focus is helping the children of the world and the community of Beaumont. The Beaumont Kiwanis Club meets in the Lodge Conference Room, every Thursday except for the first Thursday of the month. The meeting starts at 6:30 pm. Many of the members come early and order at the Bistro and eat prior to the meeting. You do not need to be a resident of Four Seasons to be a Kiwanis member. For further information, call Buzz Dopf at (909)208-0880. Hope to see you there! ~ Buzz Dopf
