34 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2018 | Summer is coming to an end and our last potluck of the summer was an opportunity for our members to enjoy the camaraderie with each other and to sample the delicious food prepared by our members. This was our last potluck for the year and we'll start up again in 2019. The rehearsals for our fall play, Four Old Broads, began last month and the cast has been working very hard to memorize their lines and get ready for our performances. The dates for the play are Oct. 25 - 28 and we will have three evening performances and one afternoon matinée. Flyers for the play are in the lobby and play information can be found on our Facebook page and articles in the Lifestyles and Sun Lakes Life. Our new members, Ida and Norm Wenzel, are our ticket chairpersons and we thank them for their enthusiasm by jumping in and taking on this job. Our ticket sales are scheduled for Oct. 15 - 24 from 9 am to 2 pm and tickets will also be available for purchase at the door at any of our performances. Cost of the tickets is $10 pp payable by check or cash. If you didn't attend the meeting and would like to help sell tickets, contact Ida or Norm at 312-2617 or at idawenzel@ earthlink.net. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Young at Heart Thank you to Nancy Watterson for hosting a really FUN time for the girls at the Girls 'n Pearls event. October – No events Nov. 18 - Killer Dueling Pianos: If you missed out on this event last year, don't miss out this year. Get your friends and relatives together and sign up for this Vegas style show being held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom from 4 to 7 pm. The Killer Dueling Pianos will have you clapping, singing, and laughing with their special brand of entertainment. With a catalog of songs ranging from Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley to Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, everyone is sure to have a fun time. This event will be open to all Sun Lakes residents and their guests. There will be table seating in the round and appetizers available for purchase. Cost is $15 pp for the entertainment payable to YAH. The club will offer an appetizer bar for $10, tax and tip included payable directly to SLCC. If you have a group you'd like to sit with, submit your checks together and drop them of at 1049 Oakland Hills Dr. In order to give the kitchen an idea of the number of people to prepare for, please indicate the number of your guests who plan to partake or not partake of the appetizers. Get your checks in early. Dec. 31 - Feathers And Fedoras New Years Eve Event: Dust off your fedoras and boas and head to the South Clubhouse for a Roaring 20s themed celebration. The fun starts at 8 pm. Cost is $27.50 pp which covers heavy appetizers, a champagne toast at midnight, party favors and music by Shoot For Tuesday! BYOB.
