42 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2018 | The Stardust Dancers are busy with new routines for the coming months activities. A great holiday number is in the works in conjunction with the "Men of Style." A new line dance and a simple jazz routine is also being taught. The next Fourth of July Celebration will see the Stardust Dancers performing a new military routine. The modeling classes are perfecting new patterns for the Garden Club Fashion Show Luncheon. Both men and women will be modeling fashions. All classes are open to any resident who is interested in trying out the program. Regular classes are on Wednesday and Friday at the South Clubhouse from 2 to 4 pm. Stage time is on the first Tuesday of the month from 10 am to 12noon. A monthly schedule is provided with any changes and all class schedules. For more information about the Stardust Dancers, schedules or particulars of the individual classes, call Evelyn at 845-7199. We contributed Asian Dances and all of the Follies acts were a huge success. The show, "Sun Lakes Got Talent," was all about music, fun and laughter; and was enjoyed by everyone present. We also performed Asian Dances for the Young at Heart party; which included opening shells for the ladies to find pearls of varied colors. Under the direction of Donna Kissling and Victoria Simenton, many of our belly dancers performed the "Veil Dance" on Mediterranean Night in the Main Clubhouse. As we danced around the tables later, there was much laughter and excitement from the audience. We continue to be busy with practice of many new dances for our 2019 show that will take place in May of next year. As summer comes to a close, we are enthusiastic to learn our new dances. For information, call Joan Lau at 769-3978 (Director/Asian Dance); or Nora Huffman 845-8333 (Assistant Director/Flamenco) or any of the coordinators listed below: Int'l Culture Club In the month of October the ICC always celebrates an early Halloween. We invite any resident to attend our bash and we encourage the wearing of costumes, masks, etc. as we have a costume parade in the early part of the evening with a lot of photos taken. You are sure to see a lot of characters in attendance. Our "try before you join program," is in effect so you can attend one function without becoming a club member. The buffet menu of the evening will be chicken marsala, short ribs, mashed potatoes and chef 's vegetables at the buffet serving stations. A chopped lettuce salad with red onion, tomatoes, crumbled bleu cheese, and Italian and bleu cheese dressings will be preset at your table along with dinner rolls and butter. Our dessert will be pumpkin cheesecake. Coffee and water will be table served and iced tea will be on a sideboard. Doors to the Ballroom open at 5:30 pm and the buffet starts at 6:30 pm by table call. Our dinner dance is held every second Thursday of each month and sign-ups are held on the first Thursday of the month at 3 pm at the North Clubhouse. The cost for members is $24, and non-resident guests pay $27. Also any Sun Lakes resident can sign up to attend one of our functions one time at a cost of $27. Our music will be provided by Global Affair beginning at 6 pm for your dancing and listening pleasure. If you find that you cannot attend after signing up, contact Carol Hurt at 769-1315 to arrange for a take-out meal box. If you miss the sign-up date, call Carol no later than the following Sunday at noon so she can sign you up with a table. For information contact Diane Hofler at 769-9308.
