6 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2018 | GM Report By Christopher Mitchell July Open Session Board Action Items: • The Board accepted the resignation of District 1 Delegate, Chantal Cedillo. • The Board accepted the resignation of District 9 Delegate and Alternate Delegate, Denny Rugenstein and Linda Vieira. • Jackie Snyder was appointed District 1 Delegate, by the Board. • The Board appointed Barry Schwartz to the District 9 Delegate and Susan Howie to the District 9 Alternate Delegate. • The Board approved a resolution to pre-lien and lien delinquent accounts. • The Board approved the proposed Rule Change 18-04 - Article III, - Updating Resident Information Form. • The Board approved the proposed Rule Change 18-09 - Article VIII, - #1 Golf Procedures. • The Board approved the 30-day reading of proposed Rule Change 18 - 13 - Article V, Section 5.01#10 – Parking Unlicensed Golf Carts in "Handicapped Only" or "Licensed Vehicle Only" Spaces. • The Board approved a donation in the amount of $1,500 to San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital for their 15th Annual Foundation Golf Tournament. • The Board tabled the Photo Club request for sun screens for the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. • The Board approved the proposal from Artistic Maintenance to perform drought tolerant landscape work on the specified areas, in the amount of $544,709.50. Funding for this project will come from the Repair & Replacement Reserves and the Capital Improvement Fund. • The Board tabled the proposed Rule Change 18-05 – Article V, Section 5.01 #6 – Penalty for Speeding and Failure to Stop; The Board directed the item be sent to the District Delegates and the Safety & Security Committee for further input. July Report on Executive Session Action (non-confidential). This report will give the community an update on actions that were taken by the Board at the executive session meetings on July 11, 12, 20, and July 25, 2018: • The Board met with the Restaurant Committee to review directives. • The Board received three requests for variances to the parking policy. After reviewing each matter, the board approved each of the requests on a limited basis. • The Board received two requests for refunds for annual golf memberships. Both requests met the association policy and were approved. • The Board approved a payment plan request to catch up past due payments. • The Board sent out an RFP (request for proposal) for management services. The association received six responses and are in the process of reviewing the proposals. • A request for a variance to the age restriction rule was submitted. After consideration the Board approved the request on a limited basis. • The Board approved the request for a one-time cleanup at a property. • The Board reviewed the street sweeping contract and approved to renew the contract for another year with Quality Street Service. • The Board reviewed the pool service contract and approved to renew the contract with Commercial Pool and Spa for another year. • The Board reviewed the landscape services contract and approved to renew with Artistic Maintenance for another year. • Finally, the Board reviewed a turf reduction proposal on multiple areas of the championship golf course. This item is on the agenda tonight for discussion.
