| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2018 | 53
Do you enjoy playing the billiard game of 8 Ball? If you do, come
join us. All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us
Mondays through Saturdays, except for Thursday which is league
play. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play until 2 pm
or so. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to
join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three-month season.
Eight teams compete every Thursday; four teams at 9 am and the
other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a
fun afternoon of friendly one-on-one competition, come watch us
play. For further information, please contact Steve Brown, 643-9880
(stvdeb@gmail.com).
The Summer Tournament ended with some exciting semi-finals
and finals.
The B League was won by Edie Voelkel and her male 'harem'
John Rawson, Bud Miner and Dan Funderburk. Well done!
Donna Pritchard, Carol Henderson, George Johsz and Dottie
Johsz won the A League. Congrats, you played well!
The AA League was won by George and Peggy Rumph, Al and
Carol Spinden, with Betsy Messerer playing for Carol, who was
recovering from surgery. Hoping to see her back.
Our 'Italian Dinner' meeting is Oct. 7 in the Main Clubhouse
Ballroom. If you haven't already signed up for it, you have a few
more days. The cost is $15 per club member, $20 for guests.
Monies go to 1288 Pleasant Valley. Include your name/names
on the envelope. She has a box at her door. If you are new to the
Bocce Club — we have two meetings a year — a Pizza Party in the
spring that is free to our members and our Italian Dinner which is
subsidized. Wine, beer, soda, salad, lasagna, pasta are all included.
Keep in mind the Fall Tournament schedule is a 'split' schedule.
Beginning the week of Oct. 8, times change from 5, 6, 7, and 8 am
to 3, 4, 5, and 6 pm. Your schedules reflect that change, but every
year we have teams who don't understand what is going on! We're
trying to 'out-think' the weather — doesn't always work, but we
come close. Questions, call Dutch, 845-0392. See you on the courts!
