We understand her wish to move on to other endeavors and want to thank Micki for her many contributions to the Breeze through the years. We will miss Micki and her musings, and we have yet to decide whether to keep the DID YOU KNOW? column as is, stop the column altogether, or reinvent the column in the new year. If the column is tweaked, it could focus on little-known facts about our Four Seasons community as it grows and becomes our own and other anecdotes the editorial board deems interesting, intriguing or timely. For example, DID YOU KNOW that this issue has the last Pet of the Month column? Fear not. We, at the Breeze, love pets, too. We will continue to showcase your furry friends — and those without fur — in a new column where all residents can contribute. Please submit high-quality photos of your pets along with a one-line caption to FourSeasonsNews@yahoo.com. Only high resolution (two to 10 megabytes) photographs with up to two pets per picture will be considered for publication. Please include your name and phone number in case there are any questions. Speaking of pets, DID YOU KNOW that a new Dog Park Off Leash Ad Hoc committee has been established and approved by our Board? The temporary committee, chaired by Martha Baumgarten, will study rules and regulations and then make recommendations for the new dog park. The location of the dog park has not received final approval. What do you think? Should we keep the DID YOU KNOW column or not? What would you like to see more — or less — of in upcoming issues? Until next time, Verba volant, scripta manent AUTUMN HAS ARRIVED! The Lodge and The Courts pool heaters will be shut down for winter on Nov. 1. The Spa Pools are heated year round at all three facilities. The Summit pool is heated to 84 degrees year round and, of course, you can always thaw out in one of The Courts indoor saunas. The water aerobics classes will be at The Summit pool at 10:30 am Monday through Friday from Nov. 1 through Easter Sunday after which time the Monday, Wednesday and Friday classes will return to The Lodge pool. COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP The community has 12 active committees comprised of volunteer residents, a Board liaison, and management liaison to address a multiple number of issues and processes that make Four Seasons at Beaumont a fabulous place to live. These committees work as a team to address a myriad of items pertaining to the well-being of the facilities, finances and fun to name a few. The committees cannot run efficiently without the all-important resident volunteers. Every month at the open session board meeting we hear the call for volunteers from many of the 12 committee chair persons, I would like to echo the call. Please stop by, check out a committee in action at a monthly meeting, get a feel for what they do and how, guests are always welcome. Committee membership is a fantastic way to get involved with your community. Come one, come all! BOD & COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSONS MEETING Every Third Monday at 10 am in The Lodge Ballroom the Board of Directors holds a meeting with the committee chairpersons. The meeting consists of a brief report from each chairperson, input from the board members on items of concern that each committee may be working on at any given time and management input on current issues events etc. This meeting is open to all committee members. DAILY REPORT UPDATE In an effort to better inform residents of committee and board business, upcoming meeting agendas are now being placed in The Daily Report. The agendas will have a link to them so they can be downloaded as a PDF as well.
