42 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2018 The Four Seasons Chavurah (Ha-vu-rah), an informal social and cultural gathering group providing an opportunity for the community to connect to Judaism, welcomes all interested Four Seasons residents who want to participate in Judaism's culture and celebrations. In the next months, we have planned several outstanding events. The next sponsored Chavurah event will be on Nov. 4, at 6:30 pm in the RCN (building next to The Lodge), when the club hosts its Trivia Night with Grand Trivia Master Joe Barletta. Come for the fun, food and prizes, and meet new friends. Bring your own snacks. All events include a $1 pp donation. The entire Four Seasons community is welcome every first Sunday of the month. Look for the 'Trivia Night' flyer in the Main Lodge announcement holders, at the poster board section, and in the announcements in the 'Daily Schedule' of Four Seasons events. Everyone is invited to our Jewish Movie Night on Nov. 18, the third Sunday of the month. Before each movie is a dessert potluck in the Card Room in the Main Lodge at 6 pm, followed by the movie at 6:30 pm. November's movie is to be announced. Last month's movie was The Women's Balcony a wonderfully good-hearted, rousing tale that pits men and women in an Orthodox community in Jerusalem to a social test. We hope you attend our next pre-movie dessert potluck followed by the movie selection. For more details, look for the flyer and poster in The Lodge. Our next major event will be our Annual Chanukah Gift Exchange and Latke Dinner. Look for more information in the December Breeze and the Flyer Holders and Poster Board Section at The Lodge. For more information about these events, or to be put on our email list, please contact us at chavurah.time@aol.com, or talk to a social or cultural committee chairperson: Nancy Justice (Movie Night) (951) 769-5804; Sandi Barletta, (951) 524-0237 (Trivia Night); Dr. Zee and Ernie Knapp, (714) 423-4755, (general questions). ~ Dr. Zee Knapp Chavurah (Ha-Vu-Rah) Jewish Social Club Intercessory Prayer group Greeting intercessors, friends and neighbors. Are you ready for Thanksgiving? Every day is Thanksgiving for many Americans. We have so much to be thankful for. When you stop and think about children sleeping in cars night after night, and waking up every morning with an empty stomach. When you see homeless people and veterans begging for food on the street, stop and think about the comfortable bed you sleep on every night and how you wake up to a hot meal every morning, then you can give thanks with a grateful heart every day. Mother Teresa quoted: "Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work. Love is a fruit in season at all times and within reach of every hand. One of the greatest diseases is to be nobody to anybody. Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go. Happy Thanksgiving Giving." The intercessory prayer group meets on the first Monday of each month. We will meet this month on Nov. 5 at 9 am. We look forward to seeing you. Men are welcome. ~ Cookie Bonner; eaglewatchwb@aol.com On Oct. 5, we began a new study on the Book of Psalms in the Bible. We have learned what the Psalms are lyrics, poems, prayers, praise, etc. We learned who wrote them, when they were written, and that this book is actually divided into five books. We learned that the Book of Psalms has several genres or types, and which Psalms are incorporated in the specific genre. Lastly, we discussed why the Psalms were incorporated into the Bible, and God's actual intent for the Psalms in our lives. The first genre of Psalms we discussed was the Wisdom Psalms. These specific Psalms discuss everyday living in relation to God and the consequences of various ways of life. We then discussed the Thanksgiving Psalms and their four divisions: personal lament, national lament, penitential and imprecatory. Beginning in November, we will discuss the confidence, royal, remembrance and praise psalms. Ladies, if you are interested in studying the precious Word of God and specifically the Psalms, come join us through the end of the year as we explore this beautiful book. We meet every Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:45 am in the Game Room at The Lodge. We'll be looking for you! ~ Eileen Gilbert- Antoine; egcellent@msn.com "Believe…" Women's Bible Study
