24 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2018 On July 24, 2017, The Courts opened offering saunas in both locker rooms. Saunas have been used for thousands of years to help people relax, ease pain, and reduce stress levels. Sitting with a friend in a quiet and subtly lit sauna is just another one of the varied activities that Four Seasons' residents can share. The Four Seasons' saunas have a maximum capacity of four persons in each sauna. They can be used as either a dry or steam heat sauna. If using as a steam heat sauna, distilled water in a bucket with ladle is provided for pouring over the hot rocks to create mist and increase the humidity in the sauna. It is not recommended to use the sauna for longer than 15 minutes per visit. Before entering the sauna, make yourself familiar with the rules and regulations of the sauna usage. Residents using the sauna declare that they are fit and healthy to use the sauna and bear sole responsibility for their health condition or conditions. Keep safety in mind when using the sauna. Here is a summary of some simple rules to follow and keep in mind for your safe sauna experience and usage. • Do not eat a big meal before you take a sauna. • Before entering the sauna, a shower with soap is obligatory in order to remove all cosmetics and contaminants from the body. • Bathing suits and rubber shoes are permitted. Residents must sit on a cotton towel in the sauna. • Do not enter the sauna wearing metal jewelry. The metal heats up and may burn you. • Do not enter the sauna wearing glasses or contact lenses. • No food, drinks, or electronics allowed. • Physical effort should be avoided after a sauna visit. • Spa pool usage is not allowed after using the sauna. • Drink sufficient fluids after using the sauna. The saunas are here for the residents to enjoy and it is understood that a good and safe sauna experience can soothe muscles, warm bones, and be a source of relaxation. Also, the Safety Committee is asking drivers to please slow down within the community. Drivers, for the safety of all, obey all traffic signs and speed limits. No matter the time of day or night or change of seasons, walkers are always reminded to walk on sidewalks and/ or on the trails. Walkers, please do not walk on the streets, this is for your safety.
