14 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2018 | Social Committee Autumn is in the air and with it the anticipation of all the holiday events coming to our community. We are working hard planning another season of fun activities. We'll be starting to decorate the Lodge for the holidays on Thurs., Nov. 29. The fun starts at 8 am. We'll be decorating trees and rooms too. No experience necessary and all the decorations are furnished. Everyone is welcome to participate. The Angel Tree will also be displayed in the Lodge lobby with tags for gift requests from the children in need. This year we will be doing a Holiday Luncheon on Thurs., Dec. 6 in lieu of the Holiday Home Tour. The Home Tour will take place again next year. Tickets for the Luncheon will go on sale Tues., Nov. 5 at 7am at the Lodge desk. A portion of the ticket price will be included in a donation to The Salvation Army. We are looking for volunteers to make holiday centerpieces for the tables. There will not be hostesses for the tables, and the centerpiece that you make may not be at your table. We do plan on acknowledging each of the centerpieces during the event. Please look for e-blasts and the holiday poster for more information. Our Holiday Cart Parade will take place on Sun., Dec. 9 from 4 to 6 pm preceded by a social hour from 3 to 4 pm. Decorate your carts and come out to join in the parade or just come out to wave and cheer them on. A map of the route will be posted at the Lodge. The Vintage Voices will be performing following the Golf Cart Parade with their annual "Loving Christmas Wishes" program. Join them in the spirit of the holidays and singing some of your favorite holiday songs. The end of the holiday season will come with a spectacular New Year's Eve Celebration, an Enchanted Winter Gala. Tickets will go on sale at the Lodge desk at 7 am on Nov. 20. We have been working to make this an evening you won't want to miss. Put your best foot forward for an evening of dancing, special entertainment, and auld lange syne with your friends and neighbors. Let's bid farewell together to 2018 and a year of fun memories here at Four Seasons. I have two children; son Eric who lives in Riverside, and daughter Valerie who lives in Corvallis, Montana. My husband, DuMonte Voigt, passed away in 2013 so I maintained our acreage for two years until moving to Four Seasons. I retired from my job as a technical support representative for a computerized income tax processing company in 2000, so you can see I like working with numbers. I have been active with the Social Committee volunteering on The Car Show and The Luau as well as helping with many of the other events. I'm a classic car enthusiast too… Ask me about my classic Cadillac!
