YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN US! Do you like to sing? Sun Lakes has its own Barbershop Chorus that meets every Wednesday morning in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room from 9 to 11 am. The sheet music and audio learning materials are furnished to help even the novice enjoy the experience. You can sing in this men's chorus or enjoy a quartet experience with three other guys. We all have a song in our heart waiting to come out. So visit us and sing along! Enjoy a coffee and donut at the break. For more information and a personal invitation contact Jim Langford at 769-6065. 26 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2018 | This group is designed to provide emotional support to any resident mourning the death of a spouse, relationship, child, parent, or beloved pet. We gather together as "hearts with ears" in absolute confidentiality in a safe shared place where strangers may become friends. Each of us is unique; our grief cannot be identical to any other, and the way to get to the other side of your grief is to "go through." We cannot criticize or judge. We now meet on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 - 3:30 in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. This is a permanent change of day of the week and time. For more information, you may call Barbara Searcy at 663-3382. Bereavement Group Barbershop Chorus Since it is Thanksgiving month, we would like to thank all the wonderful guest speakers we have had this year in our Sun Lakes Genealogy Club. Our president, John Gascoigne, was able to gather a bountiful group. We even had a member announce her entry into the famous Mayflower Society. Pilgrims galore! Recently Ancestry.com updated all of the DNA reports. So now you have some different results for your DNA if you have sent in for the kit and have received the results. Ancestry was able, with their scientists, to place more effort on our ancestors' places of origin so it is not so vague any more. Therefore be sure to check yours and see what is new for you. Still basically the same results but more of a concentration. So I'm still very Irish but the Scottish side was increased and some very minor percentages of DNA dropped off. Guess that's why we're called the Scotch-Irish. Our November meeting will be Wed., Nov. 28 at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room and will be the last meeting of the year since the December meeting falls right on Christmas. Bring your laptops and questions for a hands- on workshop. Genealogical Society
