| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2018 | 53 Do you enjoy playing the billiard game of 8 Ball? If you do, come join us. All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays through Saturdays, except for Thursday which is league play. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play until 2 pm or so. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three- month season. Eight teams compete every Thursday; four teams at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of friendly one-on-one competition, come watch us play. For further information, please contact Steve Brown, 643-9880 (stvdeb@gmail.com). The Fall Bocce Tournament is winding down to our holiday break. Fall play-offs will be held Nov. 12 and 13. For those new to Bocce, Nov. 12 will be any ties that have to be resolved; we call them 'pre-play-offs'. Semi-finals and finals will follow on Nov. 13, at 3, 4, 5, and 6 pm. Join us — it's a good time! A heads up that will be repeated in the December article: after the holiday break, it will be time, again, to pay your club dues — $12 pp for the year. The Winter Tournament, which is always the shortest of the year, will begin the week of January 14th and will run just seven weeks. As always, entries/dues go to 1288 Pleasant Valley. There is a box at the door. For any newbies to the club, we play at 1, 2, and 3 in the afternoon, hoping to catch the warmest time of the day! And, since we normally have fewer hardy souls sign up, we only play Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. By the way, team entries must be in by Jan. 4 and a new card must be filled out regardless if your team remains unchanged. Each year we start all over again! Friends of Bocce
