The Memorial in honor of Veterans Day this year was coordinated by our own Penny Skog and appreciated by all in attendance. With the holiday season near, our International Dancers of Sun Lakes are looking forward to the annual members Christmas party, presided by Donna Kissling, Carol Hurt and Penny Skog. Plans are successfully advancing toward our "Festival of Dances 2019," being directed by Anita Lawrence; with Carol Hurt in charge of the "National Costume Parade." A word of thanks to Joan Lau, Perla Williams and dancers for their performances of "Great White Waterfall," and "Subli," during our Sun Lakes Follies this year. These are all Recreation programs. Enrollment in the Stardust Dancers is now being accepted for the 2019 - 2020 season. The dance styles taught by Evelyn Hawkins will be: Light Jazz. Line Dance, Broadway, Military, Fashion modeling for both men and women, and various simple novelty routines for the stage. Everyone is welcome to participate in the styles and routines of their choice. You can learn any or all styles offered. Classes are held at the South Clubhouse from 2 to 4 pm on Wednesday and Friday. Any Sun Lakes resident is welcome. The exercise alone is worth the effort. participation in Sun Lakes activities is targeted, but the main goal is to learn and enjoy various choreographed styles of dance. Performing is not required. Nominal annual fee is due Jan. 1. The group also sponsors a travel program, which offers many fun trips during the year. Many theater events are available.
