| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2018 | 43 Pink Ukuladies The Pink Ukuladies are having fun practicing Christmas songs for the season, including Mele Kalikimaka which they contributed to the Chorale Christmas concert. This number was synchronized with other instruments, including the Makua Hula dancers. The audiences especially enjoyed this number. Their contribution to "Hawaiian Holiday" with the Loma Linda Strummers was a big success. Also, contact can be made at the email: pinkukuladies@ outlook.com. Meetings are held every Monday from 1 to 3 pm in the Main Clubhouse. No group fees or music background are necessary to join. We simply have fun playing and singing. We are well into another exciting but exhausting holiday season. The club has a number of events for December and we will try to make them as relaxing and enjoyable as we can. Our one Country Western dance will be our traditional Holiday Dance. This dance will be on Mon., Dec. 10, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 7 pm. Monday? Yes, a Monday. We know this is an unusual day but it has become a club tradition. We will make this a relaxing event so you can enjoy some holiday music and good company along with some festive decorations. This "Holiday Dance" will be FREE. But we will again take donations for the local "Holiday Wish" program as we have in past years. Line dance instruction will only be Mon., Dec, 3, from 7 to 8:30 pm at the South Clubhouse. There is no couples dance instruction this month. Finally, we will have our 19th annual New Year's Eve Dance, Dec. 31. So, if you're one of the lucky ones, remember to come and join your friends for an evening of fun, dancing and entertainment with a full catered dinner. We will celebrate a Texas New Year with a champagne toast and a lot of noise. This year we are again at the North Clubhouse, 6:30 to 10 pm. Country Western Dance Dinner Dance Club Are you ready to ring in the holidays, get dressed up, have a great meal, kick up your heels, and visit with your friends? Then join us for our Annual Holiday Dinner Dance on Wed., Dec. 19 (a change from our usual Saturday night). One of our favorites, Show Down, will provide the evening's entertainment. Dress is formal, but optional, if that's just not your thing. However, it seems like everyone enjoys getting all "sparkled up" for the holidays. Doors will open at 5:30 and dinner will be served at 6 pm. We will start the evening with a Caesar salad with both ranch and Caesar dressings accompanied by rolls and butter. Entrée selections for the evening are as follows: 1) Grilled Salmon with lemon dill sauce, $28; 2) 5 oz Top Sirloin steak with Bearnaise Sauce, $27.50. Both entrées are accompanied by a baked potato and seasonal vegetables. 3) Vegetarian option is rigatoni primavera with tomatoes and carrots, etc. topped with Parmesan cheese, $23.50. Delicious peppermint cheesecake will top off the meal. Sign-ups are from Dec. 1 to Dec. 10 and can be dropped in the box on the gate at 782 Torrey Pines Road along with your sign-up sheet. Be sure to include your meal and table preference on the form you can access on the Sun Lakes website, and PLEASE get your sign-ups in on time. As usual, if you sign up and find you are unable to attend, please call Carla at 797-3506 before 3 pm on the day of the dance to arrange for pick up of your meal to enjoy at home. This holiday dance is always great fun… so don't miss it! See you on the 19th.
