Family gatherings and club parties often present an array of tasty temptations that can be difficult to resist. This year can be different and enjoyable at the same time! • Practice portion control. • Reduce the calories of a meal by loading half the plate with vegetables or fruit. • Use a luncheon-sized plate for your meal. • Wait 20 to 30 minutes before deciding on a second helping. If you are still hungry, choose a small helping of a fruit or vegetable. • Eat breakfast – Studies have shown that eating breakfast curbs the urge to binge later in the day. Following these tips can make it a little easier to stick with your healthy eating habits. TOPS is here to provide the support that members need during the holidays and throughout the year. Sun Lakes residents are welcome to attend their first TOPS meeting free of charge. We meet on Thursday at the South Clubhouse with weigh-ins starting at 9 - 9:50 am and meeting from 10 to 11 am. TOPS is affordable, only $32 a year plus $3 monthly chapter dues, which gives you six magazines a year and access to our TOPS website. Come join us! Great Job TOPS and KOPS on your monthly success! Our clothes closet was a huge success, with all items only $1 each. Thanks to all of our TOPS members who participated in the Veterans Walk in November to honor those who have served our country.
