"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" The holiday season is upon us with Thanksgiving behind us and the Christmas frenzy quickly approaching. It is not so subtle a reminder of how the days and months seem to fly by. Team Sunshine wishes to extend our best wishes for a blessed holiday. This wonderful community is our home and we cherish the friendships and goodwill we feel all year long. Kindness Awards – November Fred and Cherrie Rau summed up Wayne and Cindy Hulings with the phrase "Nicer people you could never hope to meet." This was after the multiple acts of Kindness they had extended to the Raus, while they were just acquaintances. Wayne Hulings stepped in to take Fred to the Ontario Airport at 2:30 am, saving his wife from the chore of having to make the long journey home alone and in the dark. Wayne volunteered to return to pick him up the next day. Another time, Cindy was plagued by computer problems while Fred was out of town, so Wayne stepped in to get the computer up and running again. And, knowing that Cherrie was going to be home alone for several days, this couple was kind enough to invite her to have dinner with them. All of these events occurred before the couples became close friends. The Raus said ,"We are glad the Hulings are in our life and they are the very definition of Kindness." Team Sunshine would like to also thank and show appreciation for the multiple acts of Kindness extended to the Raus by the Hulings by presenting them with the November 2018 Kindness Award. Celebrations of Life/Memorials "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us". …..Helen Keller There are a number of families in Four Seasons who have suffered loss recently. We have learned that Ken Fontinini, Marilyn Gruden and Flo Haskell have passed over the last month or so. We are saddened by these losses as well and extend our sympathy to these three families. There may be others in the community who have lost loved ones. We are not always aware of these losses but our sincerest sympathies go out to those in the community who are mourning the loss of a loved one. Team Sunshine "Needs" Information: Please fill out a *NEEDS* Form at the Lodge Front Desk if you know of someone who has recently lost a loved one. This form can also be used for various kinds of needs assistance. In case you prefer not to call but would like us to know of a need, this form will record your concern and will be passed on to the appropriate Team Sunshiner. Medical Equipment: We do have donated/used medical equipment that we deliver and pick up from residents. Residents who request medical equipment are required to sign a waiver form. Return of medical equipment is requested by contacting Jeanne Lincoln (765-7112). Many thanks for your cooperation. Our Prayer Warriors Marietta Ruppaner conducts a prayer circle once a month to pray for our residents in need. All are welcome to attend the prayer circle. Just give Marietta a call and she'll give you the date, time and place. Also, if you have a prayer request, get in touch with Marietta or place your prayer request in the Prayer Box in the Multipurpose Room. We are thankful for the service they give to our community. Closing Thoughts "One person has enthusiasm for 30 minutes, another for 30 days, but it is the person who has it for 30 years who makes a success of his or her life." ~ Edward B.
