| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2018 | 13 Emergency Planning committee Ready.gov provides the following information on flood preparedness: Failing to evacuate flooded areas, entering flood waters, or remaining after a flood has passed can result in injury or death. Flooding is a temporary overflow of water onto land that is normally dry. Floods are the most common natural disaster in the United States. Floods may: • Result from rain, snow, coastal storms, storm surges, and overflows of dams and other water systems. • Develop slowly or quickly – flash floods can come with no warning. • Cause outages, disrupt transportation, damage buildings, and create landslides. • If you are under a flood warning, find safe shelter right away. Do not walk, swim, or drive through flood waters. Turn around, don't drown! • Just six inches of moving water can knock you down, and one foot of moving water can sweep your vehicle away. • Stay off of bridges over fast-moving water. • Determine how best to protect yourself based on the type of flooding. • Evacuate if told to do so. • Move to higher ground or a higher floor. • Stay where you are. Landscape Committee You may have noticed the landscape work on World Cup has been completed. The completion of the World Cup project marks the ending of the major landscape restoration of the entire community that took place over a two year period. The Landscape Committee along with our contractor Artistic spent countless hours planning for the desired outcome and it is hoped that our homeowners are enjoying the final look of the community. The summer heat managed to stress some of our plants and trees and we will be working with Artistic to provide replacements for the plant loss using their "guarantee replacement" at their cost for almost the entire loss. Cooler weather thankfully has set in which is certainly welcomed. With the cooler weather your irrigation times should be reduced both in frequency and run time. Our water is a precious resource and please do not waste it. We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends and with the upcoming holidays we wish everyone a wonderful and safe holiday. We are so fortunate to live in a community where we can enjoy all the various activities our Social Committee provides us with, especially during this time of the year.
