Event Systems Neighborhood Watch Our next meeting is Friday, Feb. 8, at 10 am in the Ballroom where we will address any concerns that you may have here in the community. We also hope to strengthen our program by adding more Block Captains thereby strengthening neighborhood spirit and our policecommunity partnership. If you are interested in becoming a Block Captain, please contact Dennis Gray or Susan Wilson for more information. Discussion and comments on our EPP Expo are welcome, as we know Neighborhood Watch is an integral part of our EPP program. We look forward to seeing you then but please continue to watch out for each other as our community continues to grow. ~ Susan Wilson The Holiday Variety Show conducted by the Performing Arts Club went off without a hitch in early December and, once again, the ESC was there to attend to the technical needs of the evening. The PAC presentations were fun and the lighting, sound and stage performed well to the enjoyment of a "standing room only" crowd. It was also a lovely inauguration for the new Grand Piano now found in the Lodge. This beautiful instrument was purchased by the HOA for the listening pleasure of our residents during productions and performances and three people played it in different acts that evening. We also thank everybody who helped in front of and behind the scenes. There were several inquiries from residents on how they can get involved with the productions, as we can always use help in keeping things organized. If you want to get more involved, email Roland Harrah at rolandthanh@msn.com. The 2013 Holiday Home Tour, sponsored by the ESC, was a huge success. What began as a whimsical fund raiser has turned into a well attended community event. This was the third Holiday tour and nearly 240 people toured the five beautiful homes that opened their doors this year. While the majority of visitors were residents and their friend or relatives, about twenty-five new or potential home buyers were invited to attend by the K. Hovanian sales office. While the model homes are beautiful, they are sterile and these visitors were thrilled to interact with actual homeowners, view homes that are "lived in" and experience the enthusiasm the residents feel about living in Four Seasons. Again, we thank Steve & Cheryl Bell, Steve & Martha Benoff, Terry & Betty Fears, Wayne & Cheryl Staples and Sal & Jane Valle for graciously opening their homes. The next event, the Outdoor Living Tour, in late May or early June, is in the works as well as next year's Holiday Home Tour and there is actually interest in a Fall Tour. If you are interested in showing off your beautiful home in any of these tours or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the tour coordinator, Teri DiMarinoDavidson at 951-769-4345. ~ Teri DiMarino-Davidson Mark your calendar! Four Seasons Mardi Gras The Social Committee will be putting together a bauble and bead filled evening with all of the traditional sounds and flavors of the Mardi-Gras in New Orleans. Wear a costume or come casual, but come hungry and ready to follow the decorated float and dance the night away. Tickets go on sale at the Lodge desk on Feb. 5, for only $20 per ticket (includes dinner) and the event is on Saturday, March 9 at 6 pm. The last day to purchase tickets is Saturday, March 2. ~ Melody Seewoster Emergency Preparedness Program (EPP) Our next meeting is Thursday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 am, in the Lodge Ballroom. Our purpose is to educate and inform our community to be individually prepared for disasters and emergencies. At our meetings we encourage everyone to take advantage of the FREE CERT (Community Emergency Response Training) offered by the Beaumont Office of Emergency Services (OES). The next training class begins Thursday, March 7. You may call the City to register. The important information shared and opportunities for hands on experiences are not to be missed. Riverside County invests many hours in Emergency Preparedness, such as simulations of disasters which would give opportunities to be prepared if real life occurrences should happen. One of our CERT members participated in such an event and gave a presentation at our January meeting. It was quite informative. Now to our kudos and thanks. Our first EPP Expo held in January, was very 14 successful. The goal was to make each person attending aware of the importance of being prepared in case any emergency. The exhibitors, speakers, EPP teams of our various groups were there to teach ways to make it easier for you to stay calm in a disaster and make sure that you know what to do and what items to have at home or in your car. Sally Peterson and Sharon Geiser were our leads on this event. Thanks to Jean Sandoval who secured our door prizes, Bernadette Chance for our EPP Logo, our Team Leaders as well as SO many more who worked to make this a great event. Of course we must also thank Cindy and the Lodge Staff. Our hats are off to all that made this such a great event. We have a strong commitment to having everyone EPP Prepared. We meet the first Thursday of the month at 10:30 am in the Lodge Ballroom. Come share your ideas, work and help develop the EPP program. Your enthusiasm and expertise are needed. Again our next meeting Thursday, Feb. 7, 10:30 am in the Lodge Ballroom. ~ Anita Worthen FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2013 | community News Community News | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2013 15
