Bunco This month we will be playing bunco on Feb. 8 and 22. We have been having a great time in the last few months with lots of ladies showing up to play. It is always nice to see new residents joining in and getting involved. Buy a drink at Smitty's and join us on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. We play at 1 pm sharp in the Card Room. ~ Cheryl Burke & Suzanne Roldan Canasta #1 Come join us for an afternoon of friendship and fun while playing a game of Hand and Foot Canasta. We meet in the Card Room every Thursday afternoon, 1:15 to 4 pm. Each week you may play with someone different which gives you an opportunity to meet your fellow Four Season residents and old friends who enjoy an afternoon of "cool" cards. It is also handy to have the Bistro just down the hall if you would like something to snack on or a cold drink. We supply the cards so all you have to bring is your body and the desire to have a little fun. If you don't know how to play we are always happy to set up a teaching table and by the time the afternoon is over you have mastered the game. Meet old friends and make some new friends and have some fun. Just because it is a social game setting does not mean we don't have exciting hands. See you there. ~ Roar Senstad Book Club On Feb. 12, at 9:30 am, in the Lodge Conference Room, we will be discussing Marble Eyes by author Hildred L. Kennett. Raymond Evers is a merciless killer crossing the country from Illinois to Arizona, leaving a trail of blood and bodies. As the body count climbs and Raymond gets closer to Arizona, he is on a direct collision course with a culture and a warrior like no other. Bear Jackson is a warrior whose bloodline can be traced back thousands of years. He's an FBI agent assigned to the Phoenix, Arizona field office. After his last deadly assignment, he needs a vacation. He's headed back to his childhood home on the Mojave Indian reservation. He's looking forward to his mother's home cooking. Bear's best friend has a vision. It's a race. Can Bear find the killer before he finds Bear's closest friend? Bear's life is about to be changed violently. It will be the ultimate test of his beliefs and his warrior culture! Hildred L. Kennett is a local author, living in Yucaipa, California, with his wife and his happy-go-lucky pug dog named Dakota. He spent 30 years in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff, city police officer, tribal police officer and director of a campus safety department. He enjoys riding his motorcycle on the weekends. For the last eight years he has been an elementary teacher in public schools. He is now busy writing a sequel to Marble Eyes, entitled Mace. It has many holidays… so more reasons for celebrations! We have National Smile Day, Mardi Gras, Chinese New Year, Valentines Day, Love your Pet and of course it is American Heart Month. And you know where this is going, wine Is GOOD for the heart! Come join us Thursday, Feb. 21, at 6 pm in the Ballroom. We will talk about its beneficial properties and continue to celebrate with some sparkling, red and white and dessert wines. Bring a glass or two for tasting, a bottle of wine to share if you want, and a dish to share with at least eight people.
