| OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2018 | 15 Errata: It has come to our attention that the list of books submitted for print in the November 2018 OHCC Living magazine was in error. We apologize of any inconvenience that this may have caused. The OHCC library wishes the happiest of holidays to the OHCC community. The library and the OHCC Theater Arts Reader's Group are collaborating once again on an afternoon of Christmas stories. The event will take place in the library on Sun., Dec. 2 at 2 pm. It is aimed at children ages five to 10 and costs $5 per family. Stories, door prizes, and a special guest will fill the afternoon. Please sign up at the front desk. Please remember that the library has a computer available for all residents. This is especially helpful when looking up favorite books and authors. In addition, the librarians have a list of all recent books purchased and can help you find that special book. The library always has a community jigsaw puzzle in the works. Please stop by and see what you can fill in. In addition, we have puzzles available for you to take home and work on. We just ask that they be returned to the library when you are finished with them so others can enjoy them. Fill up those cold winter afternoons with a puzzle. It is good for the brain! One of our most popular authors is Sue Grafton. She is well known for her detective character Kinsey Milhone and her books that start with a letter of the alphabet. Her books have been printed in 26 languages and distributed to 28 countries. Unfortunately, Ms. Grafton died last year at the age of 77. She did not want anyone to write for her nor did she want her books made into movies or television shows. Her last book was Y is for Yesterday. Her family stated that it would indeed be her last published book. So Z will never be written. The library has several of her popular, well-written books. Library members' dues are $15 per year. If you have not joined, you may pay now and it will carry you through 2019. In addition, librarians are accepting dues now for next year from members. Please consider supporting this worthwhile endeavor. "I don't believe in colleges or universities. I believe in libraries because most students do not have any money. When I graduated from high school, it was during the Depression and we had no money. I couldn't go to college, so I went to the library three days a week for 10 years." ~ Ray Bradbury Library Association December Book Buys 12 Rules For Life An Antidote To Chaos (Nf ) .........
