• Do you have new resolve to be healthier in 2019? • Would you like to find others to help you along the way? • Are you looking for something new? • Maybe now is a good time visit a TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meeting. Visitors are always welcome to see what we do on Tuesday morning at 8 am in the Ballroom. This month, Jan. 26, is Club Day and TOPS will have a table at the event. We will be giving away a $25 Panera gift certificate each hour in a FREE raffle. Just stop by and enter. You can chat with participants, pick up some freebies, and take part in the free raffle as well. Our biggest weight-loss members for November were Cathy Calhoun and Charles Caldera. They received recognition and a small prize. Our meeting topics this month included a fitness questionnaire and exercises, a round table of shared weight-loss ideas, and yoga. This chapter of TOPS focuses on the core principles of nutrition, wellness, motivation and exercise to assist you in your healthy life journey. At TOPS we have ideas and support for better, healthier, eating habits. We acknowledge that we are all still struggling with this on-going battle, but we work together and have lots of fun doing it. I hope that everyone in the Domino Group had a great day with their families, friends and loved ones. Robert Turner was the domino champ for November, winning with 17 game wins. Robert "talks the talk." Now he is "walking the walk." Way to go, Robert Turner. In December, the playoffs for the personalized domino trophy began. It is time for someone to defeat Pete Antoine who was the first domino player to win the trophy. The results from that contest will be in the next article. I hope everyone in the Domino Group and all of the other clubs at Four Seasons Beaumont had a very Merry Christmas and will enjoy a Happy New Year. Dominoes are played every Wednesday and Friday from 5 to 9 pm in The Lodge Game Room on our regular schedule. Come out and join us, have some fun, and make some new friends. All are welcome. Practice is from 5 to 6 pm on both days. Jesse Dimmer is usually available to give you help and tips on the game of dominoes, if needed. Our purpose is connecting by social "meetin'-ya" via "face-to- face-look." We meet every month on the fourth Thursday; our next meeting will be on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 6 pm. We gather at the atrium in The Lodge, order any Smitty's food items that we want and then move to The Lodge Card Room. Feel free to bring your own adult beverage, if you desire, and appropriate glassware. Everyone is welcome.
