52 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2019 Okay, so the holidays are over, and you're bored. We totally understand! And we have the perfect solution for you: Come join the Billiards for Fun Group! If you've never played, that's okay — we'll teach you. If you're rusty, don't worry — we'll encourage you to play and increase your skill level! Think about all the fun you're missing, getting to know a great group of really nice pool-playing people! C'mon. You can do it! Formal play is every Tuesday at either the 11 am session or the 1 pm session. There is also informal practice sessions open to the community on Saturdays during the same time slots. So we have a new year and a new in-house tournament plaque ready to display the 2019 to 2021 winners! (It's hard to believe we're headed into the 2020's!) Our last in-house tournament of 2018 was so much fun. The 11 am session winners were Paul Snyder and Rocket Spinosa. The 1 pm winners were Pete and Eileen Antoine. So there was a best two-out-of-three playoff, and the winners are: First place ~ Pete and Eileen, Second Place ~ Paul and Rocket [see adjacent photos]. A big thank you to all of the participants and especially the members who stayed to cheer on the winners! A little bit of advice to you all, don't make a new year's resolution you know you can't keep. You'll feel better about it. As promised last month, we have the winners of our Fourth Quarter Doubles and Singles Tournaments, which are as follows: Doubles, 1st Place was Bob Cooper and Dave Thomason and 2nd Place was Ron Erickson and Tom Herron. Singles, 1st Place was Dave Thomason and 2nd Place was Dave Roldan. Our December social, which was a potluck progressive dinner involving four members' homes (mentioned last month), consisted of appetizers, salads, main course and dessert was an absolute success. All the homes were beautifully decorated and all the foods of the holidays were absolutely delicious with 20 members in attendance. So, we're looking forward to another year of meeting new members, competitive play and just plain-o having fun. Come on out and join us in 2019 – you and your spouse will love it and have a great time with the rest of us.
