FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2019 55 Tails & Trails - All Pets Let it be resolved… Tails and Trails wishes everyone a wonderful 2019! Resolutions are nothing new and have received some well- deserved criticism. We feel, however, that it can never hurt to make the most of any special thought and initiative that come with worthwhile goals for the new year. Here are some great resolutions for pet owners – tailored especially for our Four Seasons households. In order to show respect for my neighbors and my community, I will NEVER fail to pick up after my dog – no matter where we are. I will keep in mind that the responsibility for this is solely mine and that there is no one else who will be picking up after us – not even the community landscape maintenance staff. I will take the time to double-check the registry information on my pet's microchip to make sure that my address and phone are current. It's the best protection I can give my pet in the event they get lost. What, no chip? I will promptly ensure that my dog or cat has a registered microchip – because it can save my pet's life! Tags and collars fall off. Microchips don't. I will read and follow all the community guidelines regarding pets – paying special attention to ALWAYS keeping my dog on a leash (for my dog's safety as much as for any other reason)! Don't know where to find the rules? Visit the community website. Select HOA from the top menu, then Governing Documents > Community Guidelines > Part 1 – Guidelines > Page 26. When walking my dog(s), I will make sure that other residents feel comfortable and unthreatened by shortening my lead, blocking my dog, and asking my dog to sit quietly while others pass. I will not allow my dog to greet other dogs without first requesting permission of the other dog's walker. I will make sure to engage in plenty of play time and mental stimulation with my pet(s), especially when weather extremes keep us inside. I will attend at least one Tails & Trails meeting this year to learn more ways to be a better pet parent. Tails and Trails next general meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 4 pm in RCN 3.
