FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2019 7 Happy New Year! A new year is here with new beginnings everywhere. People tend to re-evaluate their involvements and often decide to try something new to add value to their lives. Well, we have just the thing for you. If you find yourself in this New Year process, the Club and Committee Fair is just the thing you're looking for. This event will take place in The Lodge Ballroom on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10 am to 1 pm. There will be many of our clubs, groups and classes represented along with committees (and a few surprises). Come check out the many opportunities for meeting new friends, finding new interests, and discovering group projects through committees for community building. You are a lot more important than you might think. Putting your years of experience and expertise into making your home paradise even better can be quite rewarding. Try something new in 2019; you might be amazed at how full and alive you'll feel. Speaking of clubs, groups and classes, i want to thank those club and group captains who submitted their recommendations for how we could make the current matrix in the Community Guidelines more relevant for their meetings and gatherings. In the last 14 years or so, our groups and clubs have grown well beyond what they were at their inception. Some matrix items still apply to most groups, but some are needing changes. After being directed by the Association Board of Directors to review how our more than 80 clubs, groups and classes are functioning, we have been diligently gathering data and suggestions to determine exactly which criteria serves to protect the Association as well as the residents participating in these activities. I'll let you know what happens with the review and what revisions the BOD approves in the next couple of Breeze issues. So stay tuned to find out. It will be positive and for the good, I'm sure. Guess what great thing is happening on Friday, Jan. 11 at 6 pm in the Ballroom? You're right! It's that ever popular "Games with Gail." It's an absolutely fun and hilarious time and you're more than welcome to bring your dinners in from the Bistro or just bring in your favorite beverage. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge for admittance. You will have a blast and definitely get your money's worth. Oh, and there will be prizes for winners, too! I dare you to join us. If you like singing or watching "Four Seasons Idol" then you'll enjoy Karaoke on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 5:30 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. Here's another new thing to try. Be brave or have a little libation for backbone if you're afraid the first time. Then hand in your very first song to John Noonan who runs Karaoke. It will be ok. We have one of the friendliest, most encouraging Karaoke groups ever. Folks are very forgiving if you mess up, and they will be "at the ready" to give you a tip or two to make things easier. Hey, before you know it, you'll be a Four Seasons Idol too, just sitting back, singing your heart out and signing autographs. Have a great January and I'll see you around The Lodge.
