Our former colleague and friend Jim Searcy passed last November. He was a dedicated Board member who loved Sun Lakes and wanted to be a part of making Sun Lakes great. He will be sorely missed by all of us. His term was not up until April of 2020, therefore the Board appointed Jim Evans to finish out the term. Jim is a previous Board member and he is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and insight with us. Our new management company FirstService Residential has come on board as of Jan. 1. You have received your HOA billing around the 15th of December. In that billing was a letter explaining how to set up auto pay if you so desire. It also informed you of a Meet & Greet on Mon., Jan. 7 in the Ballroom. If you need assistance in setting up your account or just want to come down and meet them, you may come from 3 to 4:30 pm or 6 to 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be served. FirstService Residential will be there to help you make this an easy transition. Please be sure to bring your bill and information with you. Most of our Sun Lakes staff has stayed except for Charlye Sessner. She was offered a position as a General Manager in Orange County. We congratulate her and wish her the best. She will be missed. Jason Ewals was promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager. FirstService will be recruiting a new Recreation Director. We also have on board a new Food and Beverage Director, Cherie Wood. Cherie has been in the Hospitality Industry for 30 years. We are excited to have her as part of the team and look forward to her new ideas. Please say hello and welcome her when you see her in the restaurant or lounge. A friendly reminder that Board elections will be coming up in April. Please check with the administration office for timing to get your paperwork as well as the qualifications needed to run for the Board.
