| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2019 | 5 Happy New Year everyone! I hope you spent time with friends and family, bringing them to the Lodge as it was so beautifully decorated by many volunteers. We've experienced another year that seemed like it went faster than the last. One nice new feature to the Lodge is the addition of a grand piano. We are grateful that the Board approved its purchase from a resident. This sets us apart from other communities and the music coming from the piano is nice to hear while residents are in the Lobby or Bistro. As we start the year, we prepare for events related to operating your association. These include the annual meeting in April and the year-end financial Audit report from the CPA, also due in April. Next month, you will receive information on the board elections and in March, the Notice of Election for the Annual Meeting will be mailed out. This year, three positions are up for election. As always, your vote is important and necessary to conduct the election. I will write more about this in future articles. In the near future, FirstService will introduce a new Four Seasons Hemet website that will interface with dwellingLIVE, the gate access system. The website is very comprehensive and will have many features residents will find useful. As we get closer to launching the site, we will provide you with more information in the billing and via email. The most important tools a resident will need for logging on is a mobile phone number that receives texts and a valid email address. The next is a subject that I've spoken about for the last nine plus years: OVERWATERING YOUR YARDS! The seal coat project made us all aware of the damage water causes when it runs over the asphalt on a daily basis. Water and the sun are the two killers of asphalt. We are going to be inspecting each and every resident's drainpipe for excess water and those who have moss, weeds and excess runoff will be receiving notices to reduce their outdoor irrigation. A lot of you have done this already, so no worries. Those who haven't, please have your system checked and water times reduced on the appropriate stations on your timer. If you don't know where your timer is, please have a neighbor help you. This will save the association from having to pay for re-sealing the asphalt due to water damage. Lastly, our staff family and I hope that you had a peaceful holiday season with your loved ones and we hope that this year brings continued good health for all!
