Our contribution for Activities Day was a fashion parade of costumes from around the world. Highlighting this event were a variety of Asian costumes coordinated by Joan Lau. The beautiful costumes were appreciated by all attending this event. Activities Day always draws a large crowd of Sun Lakes neighbors. All of our ladies are rested from the holidays and beginning diligent practice for the continuation of "Festival of Dances" which will be held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom in May and directed by Anita Lawrence, with Carol Hurt coordinating the "National Costume Parade." We look forward to a successful year under the leadership of Penny Skog with her Assistant Director, Diane Rossovich. A "social dancing" class will start on Sun., Jan. 27 from 4 to 6 pm at the South Clubhouse. It will be a time to learn some new dances, practice on what you already know, and learn to dance with some new partners. For the single ladies, who normally dance alone, you can learn the steps and feel a lot more confident being on the floor with other ladies. DJ music will be used, and dance hosts (both male and female) will be available. Price is $3 pp. The class will start with a demonstration of a dance that will be featured. Waltz, swing, line, Latin, two step and more. Feel free to bring a CD of a dance you would like to work on. Make sure it is labeled. If you want to be a better dancer and understand all kinds of dance, give this a try. Dances will be held on the fourth Sunday of the month from 4 to 6 pm. Tables will be available.
